Aquaponics project on Aruba. I ran my Arubian Aquaponics setup for almost a week now. But without the fish. I wanted to be sure the system worked before I put in some fish. Aquaponics project on Aruba. Testing again the ph. Look how it grows. The basil is doing pretty good. My cherry tomatoe even got some flowers. I hope it gets tomatoes. The initial plan was to use some gravel from my yard for about half the height. For the other halve I planned to by Hydrokorrels (clay pellets aka Hydroton). The reaseon for that is that Hydrokorrels are relatively expensive on Aruba. You pay almost AWG 1,- ($0,57) per liter. And I needed about 250 liters! Here some pics of the media in the media bed:. It seems the lucky values of this week are:. Ammonia about 0.7 ppm. Nitrates about 40 ppm. Nitrites about 0 ppm. PH about 6.4. 11 Days ago my values were:. Ammonia about 0.6 ppm.
