About My Life as a Writer. I was born in 1980 in Griffin, a small town close to Atlanta, Georgia. I often spent my vacations with my grandfather, Elijah, in Alabama. He is the one who got me excited about the power of words through stories about the past, and discussions on books, life, and how it could be captured. Unfortunately, he passed away when I was only seventeen. I had my first professional success in 2006 and was thus able to spend more time at my desk. For my second book.
