Friday, October 14, 2011. Pirates and Giant Pumpkins. Once again, the Giant Pumpkins have come and gone. This is my 5th festival working with the Parks and Rec Department and I have to say it was one of my favorites! And just to give you an idea our festival pays $6 per pound for the winning pumpkin. How to get here. The Mike Wilde Eco Centre is situated at Cockermouth School on the outskirts of the market town of Cockermouth and on the edge of the Lake District National Park. The Eco Centre is an exciting and innovative space and is used extensively for teaching and learning, by voluntary organisations and for corporate activities. The venue can be hired for events, presentations, conferences, seminars and meetings.
