MTA Diaries: February 2011
http://mtadiaries.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 28, 2011. Why is it that at least once per week I get stuck with an oral-hygiene-deficient mouth-breather behind me? Most of the time the stench is garden-variety "morning breath," but every horrible once in a while I get someone with what I call, "shit-breath." It's as if he or she pulled breakfast out of the litter box. They make hand sanitizers. Can we get some air sanitizers now, too? And don't say Febreze, cuz that stinks, too.). Posted by theminx on MTA Diaries. I do see her board ...

MTA Diaries: September 2013
http://mtadiaries.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Long Time No Post. I haven't posted here in quite a while. It's not that the MTA isn't still raising my ire, it's that I've been busy with other projects. And I find I've been saving my best posts for Facebook. However, a few things have been annoying me enough to post here again. Eventually, a train arrived and I elbowed my way on to save a seat for elderly Dad. As we approached the Cultural Center stop, the conductor informed the train that there was a stoppage/blockage...

MTA Diaries: October 2013
http://mtadiaries.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 1, 2013. It strikes me that few of the people I encounter on the bus have any idea how to sit properly. Most of the seats on a standard MTA bus are forward-facing, and arranged in pairs. The proper way to sit in these seats is to walk in crab-style, that is, sideways, body facing forward. When situated directly in front of an empty seat, one bends one's knees and lowers one's behind gently onto the seat. That's how I sit. I was raised properly, that is, not by wolves. Raised in a barn.

Thursday, February 28, 2013. Top Chef Seattle Finale Part 2 Recap. So this should be interesting. In my haste to get out of the house this morning, I misplaced the notes I took last night. That's right, we're essentially flying this thing without a pilot! Good thing nothing really happened. Oh, I know. It was the finale. And like some bad 70s sitcom, it was filmed before a live audience. But nothing happened, apart from a couple of montages and a whole lot of cooking. And the judges get to eat. The judge...

From the Food Network for plagiarizing recipes. She denies it. While some of Anne's ingredient lists largely resemble those used in recipes penned by other people, she does usually change a few ingredients and re-words the method. minxeats - recipes, recaps, and restaurant reviews: Cyrus Keefer @ 13.5% Wine Bar

Monday, June 29, 2015. Cyrus Keefer @ 13.5% Wine Bar. Although we'd written about Hampden's 13.5% Wine Bar. Not all that long ago, we felt we had to visit and write again, now that Cyrus Keefer was running the kitchen. We knew Cyrus from his delicious work at Fork and Wrench. And we supported his efforts to open his own Hampden restaurant, Pique. For his entree, Mr Minx enjoyed the squid bolognese, which was both expected and unexpected. Expected in that it was a straight-up sort of tomatoey bolognes...
