Confections from the Cody Kitchen: August 2013
http://codykitchenconfections.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 22, 2013. 160;We wanted plenty of room to grow as a family down the road, but certainly didnt want the aforementioned feeling. 160;My poor husband.when we walked out of the house after touring it I looked over at our real estate agent with a big cheshire grin and shouted Well take it! To make a long story short, we listed our home 2 weeks later on a Wednesday, sold it to the first potential buyers 3 days later, offered on our home 2 days after that and closed on both 4 weeks later. &...
Confections from the Cody Kitchen: Pie Crust
http://codykitchenconfections.blogspot.com/2012/12/pie-crust.html
Friday, December 7, 2012. Now for the follow up from Wednesday's post. For me this is always the hardest part. When I mentioned before that making pies is really an art I was referring more so to the crust than the filling. This past Thanksgiving I used this recipe for a pecan pie and for a custard pie. But when spring rolls around the flavor of this crust will also be a perfect pairing for fruit and meringue pies. Adapted from Smitten Kitchen. 2 1/2 C flour. 1 C water plus a few ice cubes. Whisk togethe...
Confections from the Cody Kitchen: September 2012
http://codykitchenconfections.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 28, 2012. Pumpkin Cream Cheese Bread with Brown Sugar Pecan Streusel. Geez, do you think the title is long enough? 160;I was trying to think of a way to pare it down, but it didnt seem fair to cut out the cream cheese part or the very descriptive streusel part. Thats what makes this pumpkin bread different from your basic, run of the mill (yet still delicious) pumpkin bread. I know its not officially fall yet, but since its been in the mid-50s here in Georgia a few mornings lately I fe...
Confections from the Cody Kitchen: Tomato Basil Soup with Grilled Cheese Croutons
http://codykitchenconfections.blogspot.com/2013/03/tomato-basil-soup-with-grilled-cheese.html
Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Tomato Basil Soup with Grilled Cheese Croutons. A while back I fixed this tomato basil soup and had the idea of adding grilled cheese croutons. I've always loved the Campbell's tomato soup with grilled cheese on a cold day and thought that surely the presence of basil in my dish wouldn't throw things off too much. Just make sure not to add the croutons until you're ready to eat them. Otherwise they tend to sink in the soup and get really soggy. Yuck! 1/4 C olive oil. When the to...
Confections from the Cody Kitchen: Anyone still home?
http://codykitchenconfections.blogspot.com/2013/08/anyone-still-home.html
Thursday, August 22, 2013. A lot of times this gets confused with a home just being super nice. This home wasn't the biggest or the most expensive home we toured, but it had the most charm by a long shot for us. It had character and we loved that so much attention was paid to the details. You know those mammoth homes you walk into and it seems like they just went big for the sake of going big? We wanted plenty of room to grow as a family down the road, but certainly didn't want the aforementioned feeling.

Two Hughs and a House: December 2011
http://twohughsandahouse.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Remember the 1968 bathroom? Well we are still waiting to one day redo it, but I decided to help out the vanity a little. It was a strange pinky/peachy color. I'm sure it was pretty back then.here it is before. I put paper down and took out the draws. Then primed it. I was a little afraid that the primer wouldn't cover the dark trim on the drawer fronts, but it did great! And here is how it turned out! I also changed out the knobs to some small glass ones that I got on Etsy.

the dressing room: June 2012
http://chroniclesofacodygirl.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Living a beautiful life, only to prepare for something even better. Saturday, June 30, 2012. Summer update: via instagram (and a few captions, too). This post is more to pacify my OCD tendencies than anything else. Because how can I carry on with my blog when I haven't even written about what I'm doing this summer? For all the blogger world knows, I could have been hiding in a cave for the past two months. I haven't, by the way. I always knew that PR was a fast-paced industry, but now I know. Because the...

the dressing room: November 2011
http://chroniclesofacodygirl.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Living a beautiful life, only to prepare for something even better. Wednesday, November 23, 2011. It's the little things. Um, what happened to the entire first half of my Thanksgiving break? Is anyone with me? Right past me and into the oblivion of days gone it has flown. But that's okay, because it has all been good. My days have been full, but they've been sweet from beginning to end. Especially on Monday night when I finally saw part 1 of Breaking Dawn. I told you I would. Its leaves turn the most mag...

the dressing room: sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will win this battle
http://chroniclesofacodygirl.blogspot.com/2012/06/sticks-and-stones-may-break-my-bones.html
Living a beautiful life, only to prepare for something even better. Thursday, June 28, 2012. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will win this battle. You want to know something? My fingers are fighting this right now. Fighting so hard. Fighting with every fiber of their being. Let me tell you how I won the battle against my fingers. Yes, I have let myself have a few pity parties. I'm sorry about it. But not really, because I just miss her. But you know what my sweetest dad did? So I'm laying...

the dressing room: October 2011
http://chroniclesofacodygirl.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Living a beautiful life, only to prepare for something even better. Monday, October 31, 2011. Waiting on God knows what. Hey there, reality. After a weekend getaway at my beloved St. Simons Island for Georgia/Florida weekend, I return to real life. It was good while it lasted.even up until the morning we left, which brought a run on the beach and a breakfast at Sandcastle that was to die. Seriously.can I go back already? I'm a control freak. We should be excited, not scared, of what lies ahead: "Bow as a...
