Merci Me!: June 2009
http://merci-me.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 29, 2009. To Be Free, One Must Give Up A Part Of Oneself. Last night I saw Hedwig and the Angry Inch. At Club Motor in Sodo. I had only ever seen the movie. The live performance was exactly what I wanted it to be. Gritty, writhing, beautiful. Everyone was singing along. The little ball of fire on the stage is Hedwig herself. It's a car wash, ladies and gentlemen! And here's my favorite number:. Friday, June 26, 2009. Our kitchen is very small. What The Bleep Do We Know. I get knocked down!

Merci Me!: August 2009
http://merci-me.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 31, 2009. Greek yogurt with boysenberry jam. Swimming fishy oven mitts. A face on the house next door. Friday, August 28, 2009. Voila Le Portrait Sans Retouche. Below is an account of my afternoon with her, written for London Loverly. A Whim Deserving of a Longer Entry. I decided it was too coincidental, too serendipitous to pass up. So I took two Metro lines to her apartment building. But then I didn't know what I would do with the answer I got, or even if I would understand the answer...

Merci Me!: December 2009
http://merci-me.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 31, 2009. While visiting my family in California, my mother and father and I took a tour around the Academy of Sciences, where my brother works. For the first time in a long while, I felt curious and wide-eyed. Despite the post-Christmas crowds, everything seemed beautiful and wonderous. I found jewels throughout the museum, like. I also met Missa from Thrift Candy. While I as living in London, I saw Susie Bubble. Monday, December 28, 2009. Molasses In My Veins. Lacking on the traditio...

Merci Me!: Snow Day!
http://merci-me.blogspot.com/2010/11/snow-day.html
Wednesday, November 24, 2010. So I broke down and got the Internet installed in my apartment. Lucky for me I did when I did, because all week I've been working from home as my city is covered in a thick sugar icing. After conducting interviews and budgeting and whatnot, my friend and I ventured into the winter wonderland. And then my friend and I warmed our frozen feet by the radiator. I think my sock is inside out. I also broke down and got the Hipstamatic app for my iPhone. It is hard to resist.

Sensory Seattle: November 2008
http://sensoryseattle.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 16, 2008. Almost two weeks now, and I still feel elated and proud (elatoud? Perhaps Little Edie captures my sudden patriotism best. Yesterday, thousands of people across the nation protested the passing of Prop 8. In Seattle alone, six thousand. Something must be done, and it must be done now. This is ridiculous that certain sects of our society still don't have equal rights. It makes me clench my fists and dig half-moons into my palms. It just doesn't make any sense. My roommate and I w...

Sensory Seattle: It's Just Nice
http://sensoryseattle.blogspot.com/2008/10/its-just-nice.html
Thursday, October 23, 2008. The other day, I had lunch with my friend Kendal. He recited a poem for me. How many times have you had a poem recited for you? Many are making love. Up above, the angels. In the unshaken ether and crystal of human longing. Are braiding one another's hair, which is strawberry blond. And the texture of cold rivers. They glance. Down from time to time at the awkward ecstasy-. It must look to them like featherless birds. Splashing in the spring puddle of a bed-. I woke up feeling...
