Today I just have a selection of portraits for you - I've also been playing around on Adobe Photoshop for the first time, so some of them have several versions all edited differently. Well, I say unedited because these pictures are just snapshots of our daily scenery - just to give you an idea of what we see everyday here in Japan - it ain't all bamboo forests and mystical mountains ;). This is a scene from downtown Yokosuka - This is very close to the main base, where Ryan works. Yeah they do that a lot - they are SUPER clean. Have you ever seen an American sweep the road with a little dustpan? Also where Miss Lila was born ;).

Our family's adventures in Japan. Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Sakura in the springtime. Picture can capture the breathtaking scenery that 1000 blooming cherry trees provide, but hopefully you can get a small idea of how beautiful it was. The Japanese love to participate in Hanami - the viewing of sakura. They bring picnic tarps and tape them to the ground beneath the trees, then they have a picnic and admire the beauty. Perhaps we too should plan more time to be still and absorb God's beauty?

Ahit's kind of a precarious hike. Laura - world traveler extraordinaire! Then we headed on to Hakone. We went to the open-air museum first. When we arrived in Kyoto we hit the ground running - heading off first to the temple that houses 1001 golden buddhas. It was our first sight-seeing event in sock-feet, as everyone (even Lila! This beach trip was a lot more exciting because we were able to join up with my 6 other sweet nieces who were vacationing at the beach … well they aren’t really.
