The course was around a high school campus and consisted of a ton of steep run ups and downhills (which were also very steep). Ride Fast and Don't Look Back. Monday, January 19, 2009. Heat, Sugarsand and Speed. If I were to choose three words to summarize last weekend's state championship course at Jonathan Dickinson State Park, they would be: Heat, Sugar-sand, and Speed. It was a long race, but a lot of fun. One thing that I learned from this race was that even though you may not be entirely out of physical energy, a mental hit takes away almost as much as having to chase down an attack. Monday, February 09, 2009. Swamp Classic - Gainesville Crit. After the races last weekend I was stoked to get out and race again. All of the women categories were together. I have done this race several times. There is a downhill right before the finishing up hill and a small brick section after the first and second turn. Monday, March 30, 2009. I was really excited for the Tampa twilight Crit. We have not had a night race in a while so I was super stoked for this one. I started off with the juniors race. The officials gave us an easy lap so we could see the course. It was flat and technical. Sunday, January 31, 2010. Well its 2010.2009 flew by really fast! Its been so long since I last posted anything so a quick recap of the off season. I've been training alot, hitting up the gym, logging in the miles. Back in November I rode the Horrible Hundred which is Florida's biggest baddest century ride (organized by the Florida Freewheelers they do a great job) with all the hardest hills in Florida. Wednesday, July 29, 2009. This year has really flown by. Junior nationals is my biggest targeted event every year. It is exciting as racers around the country pack up their bikes and converge into one town to race for glory. The road race was on Tuesday followed by two days off and then the TT on Friday and the crit Saturday. The field was a little different this year. The road race course is a little rolling with a long uphill finish and the crit course is a very technical course with 8 turns. The guys in Savannah are obviously mtb fans as the race had some pretty technical stuff that could have been hucked as well as crossed.
