Instead of trying to defy nature, communities of plants are developed that grow happily together in the same conditions and are virtually self-sustaining. Consequently, the garden requires much lower levels of weeding, watering and chemical usage, conserving natural resources, and minimalising environmental impact. I am now based at Lower Barn, Cold Cotes. Which we have recently converted from a derelict barn into a house with an office and design studio and also two self catered holiday lets.
