2014 Year in Review: Slightly Stygian. January 4, 2015. My laptop at the old Morbid Anatomy Museum in Brooklyn (not the magnificent new space). Stygian as these stories may seem, there is usually some light along the way: reversals of fortune, friends who appear just when they’re needed most, criminals put behind bars, forgotten graves finally marked, promising lawsuits. Here are my favorite stories from 2014; I hope I’m lucky enough to find and produce more like them in 2015. The Public Domain Review.

Colin Dick | Artist | Seeing Life Book
Order your copy of 'Seeing Life' online here now! In a mostly chronological account, he has identified recurring themes in Colin Dick’s work from landscape (a predominant interest) and the domestic to travel and popular events such as circuses, fairs and festivals. He analyses style and mood perceptively and provides interesting aesthetic context. This is a major contribution to an appreciation of a life’s work although, as Colin says, plenty of material remains for Volume Two.
