Ken Young Paintworks: White Wall
http://kenyoungpaintworks.blogspot.com/2015/08/i-guess-white-wall-with-bougainvillea.html
Sunday, 16 August 2015. I guess a white wall with bougainvillea growing along it could represent any place that is sunny and warm. This particular wall happens to be part of a church on the lovely Greek island of Santorini. I loved the blue shadows slanting across the face of the wall. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ken Young Paintworks: July 2015
http://kenyoungpaintworks.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, 31 July 2015. My wife brought home a pack of glossy-looking cherries. I wondered if I could make the cherries look even more glossy by putting some into a glass. It worked and I decided to paint them. In my mind the key was to pay close attention to the highlights. I really enjoyed saturating the deep red of the fruit, which needed 5 or 6 layers. Wednesday, 29 July 2015. Anyway I thought I'd include it on the blog just to show I can produce a larger work now and then. Tuesday, 28 July 2015. I've ...

Ken Young Paintworks: Island Lass
http://kenyoungpaintworks.blogspot.com/2015/08/island-lass.html
Wednesday, 5 August 2015. This little fishing boat, Island Lass, is a favourite of mine and I've painted her 3 or 4 times. Her working life has been a long one, but she's still in regular use at a place called Pettycur Bay, just a few miles from where I live. I like her for her classic shape and her black, white and red paint. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). About Me And My Paintings. Dalgety Bay, Fife, United Kingdom. View my complete profile. Ken Young Paintworks: August 2015
http://kenyoungpaintworks.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, 30 August 2015. This is the last of my recent series of bottle paintings as it's time to move on to other things. I may return to the theme sometime because I love to paint glass. Thursday, 27 August 2015. Continuing my series of still lifes with bottles, I decided to put the bottles together with fruit. My original idea was to use apples or pears, something of that size. But strawberries were all that we had at the time, and that's how this painting came into being. Tuesday, 25 August 2015.

Ken Young Paintworks: Santorini Morning
http://kenyoungpaintworks.blogspot.com/2015/08/santorini-morning.html
Monday, 17 August 2015. On the Greek island of Santorini, the main town of Fira stands on top of spectacular cliffs high above the sea. The buildings, mostly painted white, are dazzling in the sunlight. Shadows there often look deep blue. It's a very special place. This painting is already on its way to its new home in Wyoming, USA. Ken Young Paintworks: Wild Music
http://kenyoungpaintworks.blogspot.com/2015/08/wild-music.html
Wednesday, 12 August 2015. These are two members of a street band called Clanadonia who can often be seen playing bagpipes and drums, very loudly, and with lots of energy, in Edinburgh and Glasgow. If you think traditional Scottish music is boring wait till you hear these guys. They played at a wedding I went to and they rocked the place! Google Clanadonia and check them out.
