Ardnamurchan

http://www.colinmoody.com/Site/Ardnamurchan.html

Ardnamurchan is the most westerly point of mainland Scotland.

2

Nevis

http://www.colinmoody.com/Site/Nevis.html

Ben Nevis is the highest hill in Scotland, snow is slow to melt on the north face. Glen Nevis to the south is always worth a visit. There is a first ascent story here Blog. There are only a few photos here for now.

3

ARRAN

http://www.colinmoody.com/Site/Arran.html

The Isle of Arran is easy to get to from Glasgow for the weekend, the hills are rugged and usually there are few people on them. The central hill Cir Mhor probably has the best climbing on the island, there is a good view of the other hills from the top watch.

4

MULL

http://www.colinmoody.com/Site/Mull.html

Mull is a wonderful varied island off the west coast of Scotland. There are some climbing guides here Guides.

Andy Hyslop's Blog: December 2013

http://andyhyslopsblog.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

My thoughts on climbing, running, cycling and other stuff. Thursday, December 19, 2013. It was 'Themselves' 65th wedding anniversary yesterday (18th December). We went down to the Bluebird Cafe for lunch; Mum, Dad, Jen and me. The weather was typically wild for the time of year with wind and rain lashing up the lake from the south. It was a better day in Ambleside 65 years ago. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Andrew Hyslop's Blog (USA). Colin Moody's Climbing and Wildlife Blog.

Andy Hyslop's Blog: December 2014

http://andyhyslopsblog.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

My thoughts on climbing, running, cycling and other stuff. Sunday, December 28, 2014. Took the heart fell walking in the Lakes. Beautful weather for a change. I was planning to keep my BPM below 140 but got a bit competitive going up Fairfield and ended up in the 160 range. Still, no problems but it took a long time to regain resting pulse after getting back to the van. I'm guessing he's still feeling a bit bruised after being poked and frozen just over five weeks ago. Went for treadmill test to NHS Raig...

Andy Hyslop's Blog: September 2012

http://andyhyslopsblog.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

My thoughts on climbing, running, cycling and other stuff. Monday, September 24, 2012. Alec Sharp is one of the climbers who inspired me as a youth. He left the UK in 1982 and settled in Boulder CO. Jonathan Lagoe made contact with him during his stay in Boulder and through Jonathan I was lucky enough to get to know him as well. Alec Sharp on the Loft Route. On the Loft Route. Andy Hyslop's Blog: June 2014

http://andyhyslopsblog.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

My thoughts on climbing, running, cycling and other stuff. Sunday, June 22, 2014. Went out with Rob and Neville on the evening of the 21st (longest day), to see how much snow was left in the Ciste Gully. Quite a lot! There's probably a 300M strip which must be at least 3 or 4 meters thick in places. It will make a great base for the first winter snow if it manages to hang on through the summer. Loch Morlich in the distance. Approaching through the remains of the Ciste chair lift. Links to this post.

Andy Hyslop's Blog: November 2014

http://andyhyslopsblog.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

My thoughts on climbing, running, cycling and other stuff. Saturday, November 22, 2014. Arterial fibrillation is the most common heart rhythm problem and effects 1% of the population. It is slightly more common in endurance athletes. Cyclist seem to have more of a problem than other sports but that might be just down to reporting. Male, mid fifties is the classic time to develop the disease but it can happen at any age. The Shard from my posh room at The London Bridge Hospital. The rest was pretty straig...

Andy Hyslop's Blog: February 2014

http://andyhyslopsblog.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

My thoughts on climbing, running, cycling and other stuff. Tuesday, February 25, 2014. I tried unsuccessfully, to hitch back up the A9; the walk wasn't too bad in TLT 6's. A bike would have been useful. The whole trip took about 6hrs including the walk back up the A9. Looking towards the A9 from Sgairneach Mhor. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). http://andyhyslopsblog.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

My thoughts on climbing, running, cycling and other stuff. Tuesday, January 14, 2014. I had a drive west in search of some soft snow. The Cairngorms look good from a distance but they are very icy right now. Probably good for climbing but terrible for ski touring. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Andy Hyslop's Blog: Black Mount

http://andyhyslopsblog.blogspot.com/2015/02/black-mount.html

My thoughts on climbing, running, cycling and other stuff. Saturday, February 07, 2015. One of the best days I've had in the hills for a log time traversing the Munros of Stob a Choire Odhair and Stob Ghabhar from Victoria Bridge. I skinned from just above the small climbing hut as far as the steep bit going up Stob a Choire Odhair. The west ridge was ski-able in places but mostly scoured off. To be fair, snow condition weren't that good being either icey or heavy slab with breakable crust, but the weath...

Andy Hyslop's Blog: July 2012

http://andyhyslopsblog.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

My thoughts on climbing, running, cycling and other stuff. Wednesday, July 11, 2012. I learnt a new phrase on Scottish Ski Area Challenge. Just in conversation you understand as we were (of course), riding as a team. It seemed a little over the top to me; why would you be SO bothered about someone else latching on to your back wheel? I didn’t have to wait long to find out. Both Mike and I suffered extreme examples of ‘Wheel Sucking’ during the Corrieyairack Challenge. With Coach Mike Devlin.

Andy Hyslop's Blog: Heartside

http://andyhyslopsblog.blogspot.com/2015/02/heartside.html

My thoughts on climbing, running, cycling and other stuff. Sunday, February 01, 2015. Skied South from Heartside Pass in Cumbria for a few kilometres towards Cross Fell. Plenty of snow but no base so it was quite hard work. The full tour to Cross Fell and back would have been a long day. Great to be out in the hills. Bumped into Ron Kenyon on the way out. No problems with the H. Andrew Hyslop's Blog (USA). Colin Moody's Climbing and Wildlife Blog. Rock Run Online Shop. Skye Ridge Mini Guide.
