Some notes on sampling from character-level RBMs
http://colinmorris.github.io/blog/rbm-sampling
Some notes on sampling from character-level RBMs. Aug 1, 2016. This is a (somewhat boring and technical) accompaniment to my blog post Dreaming of GitHub repositories with RBMs. I was able to find lots of great literature with practical tips on training RBMs (my favourite being Geoff Hinton’s A Practical Guide to Training Restricted Boltzmann Machines. My hope is that these notes might help out any future ML archaeologists who want to hack around with RBMs. The TL;DR is:. Background - Gibbs sampling.
Fantastic beasts of SQLAlchemy and where to find them
http://colinmorris.github.io/blog/fantastic-beasts-of-sqlalchemy-and-where-to-find-them
Fantastic beasts of SQLAlchemy and where to find them. Apr 14, 2013. I’m a big fan of fruity class names. (Working on a graph traversal problem a couple weeks, I defined a. Try to figure that one out). So I was quite pleased to discover that SQLAlchemy internally uses a class called ConnectionFairy. If you’re curious, a ConnectionFairy proxies a DB-API connection and provides return-on-dereference support. A Disney adaptation is surely in the works.

Egap nam. egap nam. Apr 11, 2013. I’d like to nominate this. For Best Man Page Ever. If you’re curious what it actually does, xjack is an xscreensaver hack that types Jack Torrance’s famous mantra on the screen, including erratic spacing and typos (just like in the film - nice touch! Like most xscreensaver hacks, it was written by Jamie Zawinski. Who, all evidence suggests, is a pretty cool guy. Splashing around in the shallow end of the deep learning pool.
Word wrap in Python's curses library

Word wrap in Python's curses library. Apr 12, 2013. I’m always surprised when I google a code recipe *. And don’t find any corresponding blog posts or StackOverflow questions. It’s like the internet is incomplete or something. Here’s my homebaked implementation of word wrap in curses. TODO Is there really no way to get the dimensions of a window programmatically? Passing in height and width feels ugly. If the whole string fits on the current line, just add it all at once. Can't go down another line.

Tuesday, September 23, 2008. Lima was always going to be the place we said we would rest and wind down from the chaos of the last four weeks. And that`s exactly what we`re doing. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Oracle PLSQL Procedures And Cursors, SQLDeveloper edition. January 29, 2010 1 Comment. I have a number of PL/SQL procedures that return cursors as out parameters, these are difficult to test outside of PL/SQL Developer and its wonderful Test window. I’ve found a series of commands that can be run as commands in SQLDeveloper (and I hope Sql*plus) to allow cursor parameters to be manipulated. Variable v your cursor refcursor;. Your function(p your cursor = :v your cursor);.
