When 140 characters isn't enough. Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Online newspaper comment of the day. The story of the dead teenager found in Milton, Massachusetts keeps getting more and more like an episode of "CSI" or "Law and Order." At this point, I'm half expecting to see David Caruso and his stupid sunglasses in the background of a live news shot one of these days. An obvious theory is that he took a plane (as in, bought a ticket with an actual seat), then ran into some kind of trouble in Massachusetts.

You still hear Lightning Crashes, Selling the Drama, I Alone and All Over You on rock radio these days, but never this one. Before the band broke up, Live regularly used the song as an encore closer, featuring blinding strobe lights and Ed Kowalczyk screaming, Look where all this talking got us, baby! Back in the d...

When 140 characters isn't enough. Monday, December 20, 2010. On Soulja Boy and the meaning of Twitter. I wish I could understand Soulja Boys lyrics, so I could alter them to make a clever intro to this post. Instead, Ill have to go with the straight news:. Soulja Boy has 2.5 million Twitter followers. But his new album sold a craptastic 13,000 copies in its first week. Billboards brief analysis of this utter failure asks several questions: Are Twitter follower stats meaningless? Measuring run production in baseball (or proof Ichiro is overrated). I was listening to Felger and Mazz on the radio the other day, and Tony Massarotti was talking about how overrated Ichiro Suzuki is. Mazzs basic premise was that Ichiros high number of hits doesnt mean much, because he doesnt score a lot of runs. Posted by Colin Steele. Is Radiohead's...

Cold War Kids are an L.A. band who used to sound like they were from the deep South but now sound like what Coldplay would sound like if they didn't rely so much on computers. The band's 2006 debut, to their third album, 2011's Mine Is Yours. It seems another style change is in the works; founding guitarist Jonnie ...

Mazz's basic premise was that Ichiro's high number of hits doesn't mean much, because he doesn't score a lot of runs. Runs scored runs batted in - home runs) / (hits walks). This number is useful, but it can be deceiving. A player with 70 hits,...
