A rest between courses | Collecting cutlery

https://collectingcutleryblog.wordpress.com/2016/10/25/a-rest-between-courses

Interesting topics on cutlery for the collector. A rest between courses. 20th century granite and silver plated knife rest with Walker and Hall knife and fork. My apologies for the gap in my cutlery posts. This is because of our ongoing attempt to move house. I never expected this to take so long but we now have a property in our sights and are waiting for the final paperwork before moving our belongings from here in Sheffield over to South Wales. Interesting topics on cutlery for the collector. I’m attempting to set up a blog site where we can discuss the topic of cutlery through the ages. This will include everything from the earliest pieces to the most modern as our collection includes pieces from all eras. I would like to connect with people who share this interest and who might be willing to share their knowledge with me. Once a tree | Collecting cutlery

Interesting topics on cutlery for the collector. Obliged to cut back a much loved birch tree in our garden last year, I contacted Paul Adamson from Woodsman Crafts (Derbyshire UK) and this is what happened. 1 The original branch of soft wood. 2 Split with the basic design marked out. 3 The finished pieces. These are totally usable although they are kept in their pristine condition for the present. All photographs are by Paul and published with his permission). This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

Tuesday, June 8, 2010. I wear my sunglasses. Originally uploaded by paul&steph. Driving to Baltimore last week, I heard a random country song. Something about - if I could go back and just say yes to whatever my dad told me to do, I'd do it. You know the whole adage - parents are always right. Blah, blah, blah. As it turns out, the adage and the unnamed country singer are dead on. The cherry on top of this 'my mom was right' sundae? Within five minutes of wearing, his life was changed too. Did not permit...

Collecting Cutch

Saturday, January 14, 2017. I have been wanting this card for several years. It has elluded me for far too long. When I was in my punk rock band in 1998, I considered trading in my spiked mohawk for a headful of dreads. Looking at John Jaso this year, makes me realize I couldn't be a member of Club Dread. In addition to the emerald card above I recently snagged the McClutch the same day. I am super happy to finally add this to the collection. Friday, January 13, 2017. How much do you know about Tek?
