My favorite project this year was creating the invitation suite and guest "book" (it's a poster, not a book) for my dear darling friend, Amanda, and her wonderful new husband, Drew. Saturday, December 8, 2012. Back in art school in the Communication Design studio, my friends invented a marvelous and clever drawing game called face x face. It works kind of like a Punnett square. But instead of predicting genetic traits, you visually combine two archetypal faces to get a ridiculously fun drawing. My incredibly talented colleagues, Sarah. Started a face x face. Friday, November 12, 2010. So here is a baby chick! I marathoned this today. Look, he has a little tail! Definitely learned a lot about crocheting doing this. It actually helped me learn the basics more than the scarf I'm currently working on (I did most of that backwards, oops), but I think he came out cute for a first try. He was drawn in the same vein as the exploration of the cartoon characters, but this guy was probably my favorite of that set. just because you can look at him and know exactly what his deal is. He's going to go save the world somewhere by zapping you with little green lasers. Friday, November 6, 2009. I really had no idea what I was getting into. A single frame of a storyboard/animatic about a girl who steals and eats a pie.
