The Collegial Equestrian: BABY ALERT BABY ALERT
http://collegialequestrian.blogspot.com/2014/05/baby-alert-baby-alert.html
Saturday, May 3, 2014. BABY ALERT BABY ALERT. So I am alive! I've been riding a lot, with lots of trails on weekends. I've also been writing and working and trying on wedding dresses and interviewing photographers and florists.hence little time for blogging. In any case.this weekend was supposed to be my first hunter pace, which unfortunately was canceled due to the wet ground. Bummer :( Hopefully we will get to go off the farm and do something soon! But I wasn't too. Meeting Sally the old Jack Russell.
The Collegial Equestrian: First lesson
http://collegialequestrian.blogspot.com/2014/03/first-lesson.html
Sunday, March 30, 2014. OK, so our first lesson together was actually LAST weekend, but various projects have meant I wasn't able to write it up until now. Are you SURE that was the last carrot? So the instructor at this barn is the daughter of the owner (who also teaches lessons, and helped bring another boarder I've been hacking out with to First Level dressage scores in the 70s.not too shabby! I like to think of her as a tall pony. Steering, not so much- so I brought her back to a trot before we caree...
The Collegial Equestrian: Polly Pictures! Plus, Foxhunting Attire Haul.
http://collegialequestrian.blogspot.com/2014/04/polly-pictures-plus-foxhunting-attire.html
Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Plus, Foxhunting Attire Haul. Had a friend come out to the barn this weekend to meet Polly and I finally have PICTURES! Pretty girl got to show off her stuff! We did a little bit of everything- started off with our routine of walk-trot transitions and cantering in the ring (slowly but steadily improving there with promptness and balance), and then we headed through the creek to the XC field where we played with some of the lower logs. Nice push there Pollywog! Proper for cubbing&#...
The Collegial Equestrian: Draft Horse Heresy
http://collegialequestrian.blogspot.com/2014/03/draft-horse-heresy.html
Sunday, March 16, 2014. Our first "real" trail ride yesterday (as in, actually on a trail and not just around the farm) was frankly.disappointing. But the good news is that I was able to figure Polly out a little more which made our second trail ride today AWESOME. Yesterday I went out with Polly's owner and another boarder, both also on draft crosses (much smaller than Polly though! Tearing around the woods is my new favorite thing! Yesterday was also a spa day for Polly. Like many drafts, she has i...
The Collegial Equestrian: The Frugal Foxhunter is live!
http://collegialequestrian.blogspot.com/2014/09/the-frugal-foxhunter-is-live.html
Thursday, September 4, 2014. The Frugal Foxhunter is live! While of course all writers (me included) love the ego boost that comes from high pageviews, this new blog is going to be pretty low-key. No blog hops, no contests, etc. But there are not a lot of foxhunting blogs out there so I hope you'll enjoy! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Buttons from spiceupyourblog.com. Millennial Memories: Flashback Fridays: Neopets
http://millennialmemories.blogspot.com/2012/04/flashback-fridays-neopets.html
Friday, April 20, 2012. Photo Credit: SyntheticStar, 4Shared.com. Hi, I'm Courtney, and I was once a Neopet-holic. ( Hiiiii Courtneyyyyy). Wasn't exactly "90s," but it was a big part of my childhood in the early 2000s, so you're just going to have to deal with that. How do I even begin to describe Neopets? Neopets was (well is) an online community where children (and creepy adults? Could adopt a virtual pet. Collect NeoPoints, and have fun in a safe controlled environment. It was also incredibly. In orde...

Millennial Memories: "Where Are They Now?" Wednesdays: Hilary Duff
http://millennialmemories.blogspot.com/2012/05/where-are-they-now-wednesdays-hilary.html
Wednesday, May 2, 2012. Where Are They Now? Photo Credit: Candicebeth.blogspot.com. I haven't watched Disney Channel. For a while, but they seemed to have perfected this cookie cutter triple threat formula. Not only are their child stars expected to act in TV shows, they also need to be able to sing, dance, remain pure. And most importantly sell tickets/merchandise. Disney is a farm, and its child stars are all cash cows. Overall, Duff has maintained a relatively pure social image and turned out well, un...
Out of Ink: May 2012
http://outofinkk.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 11, 2012. Amidst a thousand papers to write and finals to study for I came across something I least expected. Inspiration! A poem hit me out of nowhere and carried me somewhere. Beautiful man he came from the blue. Sweat dried on our backs from the private monsoon. The strength of a thousand armies could never amount. Nestled onto silky stands. Shining a retina burning light. Flames engulfing every emotion. A smile even the darkness could not extinguish. Delicious and full it was all we needed.
Out of Ink: February 2012
http://outofinkk.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 19, 2012. I decided to start this blog to see if there is a cure to this writer's block disease. Since I've never used any method when writing maybe I should try out some writing methods to see if they can work for me. Basically, a self-exile into writing. I chose this live performance of "Concrete Wall" by Zee Avi. I think it's so beautiful on its own but it will be interesting to see if I can bring my own work out of hers. Here's to hoping this works.or is at least a good start. Just a...

Eventing the Welsh Cob. About Section D Welsh Cobs. Connor on Flickr (Photos). 160;May 18, 2015 – biomechanics. Connor had a swelling the size of my hand around the vaccine site when I went out on Thursday. No temperature, heat or pain, so I cold hosed it and prepared to tell my trainer it needed to be a light lesson. This is the site on Sunday after cold hosing, swelling has gone down quite a bit. She did get the following points across:. I should not ever lean my torso back and set my back against him.

Adventures in Horse-dom: Barrels for transitions
http://adventuresinhorse-dom.blogspot.com/2013/05/barrels-for-transitions.html
I spent more time on my photography blog talking about horses I figured it deserved a blog of its own. So here we are! Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Had a flat lesson tonight. The big thing was about collection and transitions. But also keeping it "fun" because every other lesson we've done for the past several weeks we've really worked hard and we didn't want me or Kieran to get ring sour. ;). But it's usually a little strung out for a stride or two, which wouldn't work for this exercise. A twenty-something ho...

Adventures in Horse-dom: September 2013
http://adventuresinhorse-dom.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
I spent more time on my photography blog talking about horses I figured it deserved a blog of its own. So here we are! Wednesday, September 11, 2013. We've kind of kicked up our work a notch. We've been lessoning a couple times a week and squeezing in a ride or two where we can. A lot of the focus lately has been on me working to feel what lead we're on without cheating by looking down and on Kieran to do some proper bending (he's much better to the right than the left). The frustrating part came in near...

I spent more time on my photography blog talking about horses I figured it deserved a blog of its own. So here we are! Sunday, February 24, 2013. Just wanted to put this up here.I get that look from him a lot, with the ears. One on me, one on what's coming ahead. I wish I could split my focus like that, LOL. I'm still at the stage where if I start thinking what to do with some part of my body, something else falls apart! Links to this post. Hip to be Square. Did some trotting spiraling circles. Co-Worker (Collegial) Ethics – Improving relationships among colleagues, co-workers, and friends - Improving relationships between colleagues and co-workers, and addressing work place ethics
Comments and suggestions are welcomed. It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life, that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself. Ndash; Ralph Waldo Emerson. In spite of the unavoidable and constant occurrence of interactions with colleagues, little or no formal training in the ethics of collegiality is available. Simple dislike of a person can never justify destructive actions toward that person. Michael J. Kuhar, Ph.D. Yerkes National Primate Research Center.
