Then she found Phoenix, a curly haired tag-along who, it turns out, was more than happy to share his life with her. Shields says she adopted Phoenix, a poodle mix, about five years ago from Ashland-based Bandit’s Adoption and Rescue of K-9s, otherwise known as BARK.
