As we wrap up the 2013-14 school year (Ramona has been on break for over two weeks, but Amelia's last day was yesterday - ah, the difference between private and public school! As January winds to a close, and the temperature dips into the single digits, here is the last in the series of posts from our holiday in Lyons:. During the week and a half we were there, we got about two feet of snow. The girls were ECSTATIC. And I'll be honest, I was pretty happy about it, too. I love snow. It just makes everything so pretty! Come on, Pa, let's go from the top!

I don't know how it's possible, but my little baby is turning ONE next week. Next week! Where did the past year go? And 11 months old! At almost a year, Louisa is on the go nonstop, crawling and cruising and generally just trying to keep up with her big sisters! She is getting more comfortable standing up, and is starting to let go of things to stand on her own. On her own two feet!

I love it when spring finally arrives after an enduring, relentless winter, and I love the long hours of sunlight and warmth that summer brings, but I don't think that any season can match autumn in New England. And the quintessential New England autumn activity? Apple-picking, of course! Hanging out with Thomas. Apples, apples, everywhere! Love that Louisa is double-fisting them.
