Friday, August 31, 2007. We were on the trail by 7:20am and the parking lot was almost full (on a Friday). One poor soul on our team was not feeling well this day so she bailed out as we all pumped up our lungs on the hearty ascent. This 4,391 acre open space park is a gem of a resource that is very close to Denver and a great place for early season hikes. We support Christmas for Kids. We are also involved in the "Christmas for Kids" program through the Human Services Department in Colorado Springs. We have been involved with this program for the past five years. Each year the Southern District 4-Wheel Drive Clubs are given a list of approximately 350 kids.
