Taryl's Blog: May 2014

I had the opportunity to attend a special education conference in San Fran last week for 5 days. (2 were mostly traveling) I've been here once with my dad (more of a drive thru as we made our way up the beautiful coast) and another time with my sister about 5 years ago. I love it there. So much to see and do! After our first day of seminars (our other special education teacher, Marie, came too) we took a walk down to Fisherman's Wharf. An entertaining tourist trap. :). Yes, Zoltar was there too). Ghirard...

I have developed quite an obsession with Wonder Woman (thanks to Julie), so it only seemed fitting to be her for Halloween. :). This was for a party). The WW costume I wore to school/work was a bit more appropriate for being around kiddos. But I did have one of my first graders tell me "your skin is the wrong color to be Wonder Woman." After comparing me to my phone case. Haha! What do you think? Posted by Taryl Barnett. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I currently live in an animal house! Jason - My man :).

Our Family: Christmas Day
http://dustjessbraithwaite2.blogspot.com/2016/12/christmas-day.html
Sunday, December 25, 2016. We had another pretty awesome Christmas day. Santa brought the kids all something they wanted. Lincoln got a strider bike and a big train, Molly got some roller blades and troll dolls, Alissa got a big stuffed animal and a gymnastics mat and leotard and Ella got a bike, dress and fitness watch. Mom got these cute new animal costumes and an extra angel for the extra amount of kids we have now. They were a hit. Made me think a little harder about our situation. So thankful for th...

Our Family: Bateman Family Party
http://dustjessbraithwaite2.blogspot.com/2016/12/bateman-family-party.html
Saturday, December 17, 2016. We had our annual Bateman Christmas party again this year and it was a success. We ate dinner, had a short program including the nativity and the girls singing a sweet primary medley and grandma and grandpa told some Christmas memories and gave their great grandchildren their gifts. It really is a blessing that our families live so close together. We were missing my sister's family and one cousin and her family but everybody else lives in town and was able to make it.

Our Family: Ginger Bread Houses
http://dustjessbraithwaite2.blogspot.com/2016/12/ginger-bread-houses.html
Sunday, December 18, 2016. We got together with the Hansen's for our annual Gingerbread house making activity. The kids love this little tradition and sadly Alissa isn't pictured anywhere because she was sick with the stomach flu that night. She was the last of our family to get it and unfortunately felt sick that night after dinner so she was laying on their couch. These guys are the best friends. I don't know what we'd do without them. Last week, my buddy Toño and I hiked the Card Canyon loop up Logan Canyon. Our wonderful little hiking book said it was 6.5 miles, but it doesn't tell you that you actually have to hike about a mile just to get to the trail head. Lame. My satellite app tracked us going 8.7 miles total, 4 hrs 21 min, burning 3112 calories! Good times. :). We headed up the east loop. Made it to the top! We walked a mile on a forest service road to get to the west loop. The view was beautiful! My boys are so cute. :). We sp...

Taryl's Blog: March 2014

I lay here, cuddling with my five fur-babies, unable to sleep. So I figure I might as well update my blog for any admiring stalkers I may have left. I have taken up quite the interest in my cake-making skills. I actually quite enjoy it. It's a time for me to 'zone out' to the rest of the world and it's stresses, and focus all my OCD-ness on something else. Therapeutic. My brother's 25th bday cake. (A quarter). And now, it seems to be cake season! In fact, a few weeks ago I got my first 'Robin Hood'!

A lot has happened the last couple months, so I'm going to try and sum up our fun-doings as best as I can for ya. (Long post, tons of pics.). We recently went out to Boston for Caleb's Harvard graduation (previous post). While we were out on the east coast, I couldn't NOT go see Tessa when she was only few hours drive away. So mom and I drove to New Jersey for a weekend to play with the Wingers. Mom got to play grandma and the kiddos were reminded that Aunt Taro is still their favorite. :). This was on t...
