Here There be Whales: 06/01/2008 - 07/01/2008
http://heretherebewhales.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Here There be Whales. This is not just some hipster's online diary. This is a whole other kind of ephemera. Tuesday, June 10, 2008. An excellent and eclectic collection edited by my chair, Ben Marcus. Though not everything in it is really my cup of tea, there was not a single story that didn't grab me and keep my attention all the way through. Currently I'm reading Paul LaFarge's Haussmann, which is a fun read and full of all sorts of nerdy references about Paris. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Small Man, Big Mouth: December 2006
http://smallmanbigmouth.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Small Man, Big Mouth. Minor Threat versus Donald Barthelme. Jesus Christ has a Camp. Okay, I saw this movie a few months ago with Zed and Noelle. I've been talking about it an awful lot because it's one of the scariest movies I've ever seen. It's called Jesus Camp. I won't say much about it. Jesus has a camp. Jesus lovers are scary. They speak in tongues and touch cardboard Bush's. Eerie. Watch this. Top priority. Watch part one below and then find the next segments on Youtube:. Links to this post. I was...

Small Man, Big Mouth: January 2008

Small Man, Big Mouth. Minor Threat versus Donald Barthelme. While I try to scrounge up some money to pay for the "nice" European pictures to get developed and processed, I figured I'd put up some pictures of last summer. I took the pictures with my Mamiya 6. It is a great medium format camera that I purchased after my Canon AE-1 was lost on a BART train in San Francisco. Most of the pictures come from the DANGERS. Posted by Alfred Brown IV at 2:10 AM. Small Man, Big Mouth: September 2006
http://smallmanbigmouth.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Small Man, Big Mouth. Minor Threat versus Donald Barthelme. Whole schtick over at The Believer. Still, I've wanted to chart my reading history for quite some time and this place seems as good as any, no? Yes, it does. Usually. Anyway, the list of books purchased:. Oh the Glory of It All. The Stories of Vladimir Nabokov. By Vladimir Nabokov (translated by Dimitri Nabokov). Vol 10 No 3. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. By Hunter S. Thompson. Dear Mr. Capote. The New York Trilogy. Didn't dissappoint me in th...

Little flecks of inspiration and creativity. Skip to primary content. Racking up Rejections, or 30 LitMags in 31 Days. July 3, 2013. I found this thought-provoking post the other day about The 100 Best Ways to Becoming a Better Writer. But the one that really stood out to me and inspired me most was Number 66. That’s not really how I’d like it to go. So, I’m challenging myself to rack up rejections this month. Put yourself out there, knowing that you will get lots of rejections. Not everyone likes to...
