Columbus Beer Scene: Lineage Brewing - Clintonville
http://www.columbusbeerscene.com/2015/05/lineage-brewing-clintonville.html
Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Lineage Brewing - Clintonville. I read back in March. That Lineage Brewing would open in its Clintonville location on April 1. Co-owned by Mike and Jessica Byrne, Carey Hall, and Jessica Page, Lineage Brewing is located in a former car wash at 2971 North High Street. You'd never mistake it for a car wash today. The interior is tastefully designed and decorated. There is both outdoor and indoor seating. Arm Buster - An Oatmeal Stout. Scarale - A Blackberry Wheat Beer. Lineage offer...
Columbus Beer Scene: Lineage Brewing Ole Willy Mclane Scottish 80 Shilling Ale (8/10)
http://www.columbusbeerscene.com/2015/05/lineage-brewing-ole-willy-mclane.html
Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Lineage Brewing Ole Willy Mclane Scottish 80 Shilling Ale (8/10). Of all the Lineage Brewing products I tried on my recent visit, Ole Willy Mclane Scottish 80 Shilling Ale was my clear favorite. It pours a lovely copper or mahogany color, as you can see in the photo, with a beige head that dissipates slowly to a ring around the top. The aroma is malty and mildly sweet. As with all of Lineage Brewing's products, this one is available only at their taproom in Clintonville on North Hi...
Columbus Beer Scene: Columbus Beer Week - Impressions
http://www.columbusbeerscene.com/2015/05/columbus-beer-week-impressions.html
Thursday, May 14, 2015. Columbus Beer Week - Impressions. May 1-9 saw Columbus celebrating its first Craft Beer Week. I'm glad that we've finally been able to pull one together. There are a lot of good things I can say about it. Which is just down the street from Lineage (within walking distance, even). It's a very cozy and pleasant place to sit and have a glass of one of the 40 or so craft beers they have on draft. Their draft list had a nice combination of local and non-local brews on it, and w...After...
Columbus Beer Scene: Growl! - Clintonville
http://www.columbusbeerscene.com/2015/05/growl-clintonville.html
Thursday, May 7, 2015. Well over a year ago, I passed by a not-yet-open business on High Street in Clintonville called simply " Growl! My suspicion was that it probably sold growlers of beer. On Tuesday, my suspicions were confirmed. We stepped inside Growl and had a look around. Growl has forty-one craft beer taps. We shared a glass of White Birch Small Batch Oak-Aged Wee Heavy Ale while looking around. Growl is located at 2995 North High Street, right next door to Lavash Cafe. 2995 North High Street.
Columbus Beer Scene: Kentucky Ales' Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale - Draft (8/10)
http://www.columbusbeerscene.com/2015/05/kentucky-ales-kentucky-bourbon-barrel.html
Friday, May 1, 2015. Kentucky Ales' Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale - Draft (8/10). Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. (also known as Kentucky Ales), produces Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. It's an ale aged for at least six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from Kentucky distilleries. The bottled and draft versions of Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale resemble one another, but are different. The draft pours a clear brownish amber color with thin white head that dissipates almost instantly. The bott...

How To Write Fiction. Alliance for Sentient Lifeforms. One Story Per Week. Saturday, April 30, 2016. Two Months of "One Story Per Week". April 30, 2016. Go back and revise these, but that's not today. What's been interesting so far is that I've been able to come up with an idea each week. Week 6 was inspired by the late, great Harry Harrison's Stainless Steel Rat. Series of books about a cocky interstellar criminal who gets pulled into a secret crime-fighting organization. I always felt Harrison's ch...

Garrick met the refugees at the airlock, to wish them safe travels. He’d gotten to know a few of them during their brief stay aboard, and hoped that they all made it home soon. One of the refugees, an older man, asked to speak privately with Garrick. Although the request seemed a bit unusual, Garrick took the man to a nearby alcove. 8220;How can I help you? The man n...

How To Write Fiction. Alliance for Sentient Lifeforms. One Story Per Week. An engineer, writer, home brewer, and sci-fi geek. Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Free-form Brainstorming for the Novelist. For a science-fiction story I'm creating, I ran low on ideas that fit the plot I. I knew there wasn't enough to sustain a novel (the goal), although I believed there could be. I needed more material. I happened to start reading K.M. Weiland's Outlining Your Novel Workbook. And used appropriately, it's valuable.

I took notes from my reading of James Scott Bell's Super Structure. Saturday and Sunday were spent visiting family, and no...

It's important for any writer to also be an active reader. Reading helps to keep our minds active and fills them with new ideas and information which can inform our writing. For those who write, it exposes us to new ways of expressing ideas and imparting information to readers. The Quest for the Golden Quill. By James W. Pennebak.

BeerFest - Home
Welcome to BeerFest VII. Before the first ever BeerFest in the spring of 2009, I can honestly say I never imagined BeerFest would be where it is today. This year the field of 32 was filled so quickly that we over-flowed, HENCE the 36 and FOUR play-in games. TEN new teams will join the field this year, proving that BeerFest is still staying young, and will keep going strong for years to come. Great ideas did come out of those times and this for sure is one of them! Tweets by @Lourde Taylor.
Columbus Beer Scene
Saturday, August 26, 2017. Best Wishes to Zauber Brewing and Geoff Towne. I've met Geoff a couple of times since then. He once took a few of us on an impromptu tour of Zauber. His passion for the brewery and Belgian/German beer styles was evident. I always thought he seemed like a good guy and I wanted very much to see Zauber succeed. It saddened me to learn recently that Towne had found it necessary to sell his brewery. No matter what you do, I wish you success and happiness. Monday, August 21, 2017.
