Colyton Parish History Society. Colyton - The Most Rebellious Town in Devon. Against the wishes of the Protestant majority, the Catholic James II was crowned king in 1685. Four months later on the 24th May his nephew the Duke of Monmouth, exiled in Holland, sailed to England hoping to raise an army to overthrow the king. Colyton Parish History Society. The attendance fee for the evening talks, with coffee. Is £1 for members and £2 for non-members. All talks start at 7.30. Marian Sydenham has kindly organised a trip to Colyton's wheelwrights at the kind invitation of the Rowlands family. Please see attached poster. The Team Maths Challenge is a national maths competition run by the UK Mathematics Trust and is for teams of four pupils in Years 8 and 9. The competition is open for entry to all secondary and middle schools in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and this is the second year that our school has entered a team.
