Philadelphia & The Fringe: Interview: Lovelite
http://cmrcara.blogspot.com/2010/10/interview-lovelite.html
Philadelphia and The Fringe. A blog on music, associated with Christian Music Review. Friday, October 15, 2010. Andrew Polfer of Lovelite talks about the band's new album, it's sci-fi cover art, and more. How did Lovelite get started? Where did the name Lovelite come from? The name comes from Ephesians 5 "for we were one children of darkness and now we are children on light". So, in other words we used to love-dark now we love-lite. The spelling is "lite" for a stylistic preference. As far as the science...

Philadelphia & The Fringe: September 2010

Philadelphia and The Fringe. A blog on music, associated with Christian Music Review. Sunday, September 26, 2010. After an interview with. I staked out a spot at The New York stage in anticipation for indie rock group. I honestly didn't expect them to be as energetic as they were. They seemed to genuinely enjoy the RevGen crowd. I was surprised to learn a few days later that Between The Trees is disbanding at the end of the year :(. I hate music because of you. And not be passionate? I was late to their ...

A year after the release of their debut EP, indie rock outfit Abel brings fans their first full-length album, Lesser Men. According to vocalist Kevin Kneifel, “the album is about how we often lose focus on the things that are truly lasting and important in this life.”. There’s a certain musical freedom about Lesser Men. Coffee Grenades – Reflective Musings
http://reflectivemusings.com/2014/10/30/coffee-grenades
My commitment is that the whole church is called to the work of evangelism (Matt 28:19-20) and that there are some who are specifically gifted to the Church as evangelists who should be helping equip the body of Christ (Eph. 4:11-12). My inkling is that my friend is experiencing a call to the latter. So what’s the best way to learn, when there’s no clear teacher around? Immersion, of course! In at the deep end. I volunteered to head out with Nolan, and we’ve been out three times now. October 30, 2014.

Topical thoughts and ruminations pertaining to faith, culture and the church. Expect a mix of individual posts, longer series and guest posts. I love my friend Nolan. Over the past twelve months, he’s been grappling with the calling to be an evangelist. And he’s been asking me questions. To be honest, I have little clear idea about how to be an evangelist,… Continue Reading →. Click to share on Google (Opens in new window). Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). A Glorious Dark by A.J. Swoboda. Meet A.J. Swoboda. He lives in Portland, OR. He pastors a church. This month sees the release of his new book, A Glorious Dark. And I am adamant that you should get a copy. Structured around the three days of Easter weekend, the book is a series of reflections on finding hope in the tension between belief and experience. Yes, life does not always fit within the confines of our nice, tidy, theological constructs. After making the case for the ongoing purpose of the three d...
