http://lowfired.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Friday, 30 September 2011. Cube project. plus water (above) or fire (below). Wednesday, 21 September 2011. Two short projects;. Above, an urban meadow trapped in plastic. Below, book interventions - adding by taking away. Wednesday, 14 September 2011. Researching Eva Hesse on the suggestion of a friend who saw images of the ceramics posted the other day. And Prussian Blue (the pigment created when making cyanotypes) is leading me into new territory. Tuesday, 13 September 2011. Monday, 12 September 2011.
low fired: July 2011

Saturday, 30 July 2011. Just back from a bit of a break - some photos of amazing tiles to add here soon - and I actually have a commission. Unfortunately I plug my old kiln in for fist time since it was moved in January and it is broken. The commission is for a small sculpture for a wedding present. I am going to send an email to the customer with a couple of alternative pieces that I have in stock and hope either they are of interest or they dont mind waiting a bit. Friday, 8 July 2011. Today, strong in...
low fired: final glaze tests
http://lowfired.blogspot.com/2012/04/final-glaze-tests.html
Friday, 20 April 2012. Last batch if glaze tests came out of the kiln today. Lots of work to do on the colours and what forms they fit (I tried the tan and the green on some deep bowls - the tan looked awful but the green great). I used slip casts from a squash bottle lid found on the beach for the tests, each colour was single and double dipped;. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. low fired: January 2012
http://lowfired.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 17 January 2012. College time has run out for the bulb project for now but there are some ideas I will play around with in the future - especially a way of turning the bone china bulbs into small lamps. Neon tubing - could led trips and ceramic tubes create a similar effect? And playing around with lighting and looking at the amount of lit signage in Brighton has got me thinking about making bone china ceramic neon text. is it possible? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). low fired: pulling it together
http://lowfired.blogspot.com/2012/05/pulling-it-together.html
Wednesday, 16 May 2012. Last few weeks of project, trying to tie up loose ends. Firstly the bin/print piece. Still not sure about this one but might suggest having it in the corner of the gallery and see how many people add their litter to it. The concept is strong but the execution not so good - think its the rough quality of my bin that is really letting it down. A belgian margarine tub from the beach by Black Rock. A polystyrene coffee cup from The Level. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
low fired: display ideas
http://lowfired.blogspot.com/2012/05/display-ideas.html
Thursday, 3 May 2012. After waiting two weeks for enough sun (this is West Dorset.), it finally came out for two hours on Wednesday and I quickly made cyanotype print maps of Brighton covering the routes I walked when looking for litter. Prints scrunched and ready to throw in the bin. Put the three together. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Tyler School of Art Fibers and Material Studies. O Luxo do Lixo. low fired: August 2011
http://lowfired.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Friday, 26 August 2011. Having got hold of the chemicals to treat paper myself rather than relying on the pre-treated store bought paper I can start really experimenting with this technique. First thing I am trying is creating negatives of digital photos and exposing them;. Treated paper being exposed, negatives held in place by sheets of glass. As above but a bit clearer. I will try a making negatives of a few close up images of greater contrast rather than wide landscapes and see if they are better.

low fired: March 2012
http://lowfired.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Friday, 23 March 2012. Moving on. a bit. Sand-cast from some of the litter I picked up on my walks, above all from Black Rock - some finds not appropriate to make vessels from but sand-casting could be an interesting way to document them. Getting creative about handles. could I combine my schizophrenic town/country life and cast country twigs to make handles for my town pots? Or how about leaves? Saturday, 17 March 2012. A group of unfired casts from the first walk. Saturday, 10 March 2012. The tiny bott...
