Sunday, August 31, 2014. I touch those parts of my body while I recite it and I do that until I can breathe normally or until the noise in my head eases and I can function again. It's a reminder of the things I do have in spite of having very little by way of worth when it comes to anyone else. Ears, Head, Eyes, Heart. It doesn't bring me good things, but it reminds me that I can create my own little spark of something good in the chaos. Posted by M at 10:28 pm. Links to this post. Posted by M @ 10:28 pm.

Sunday, November 27, 2005. You worry about the walk back to your car because you are a girl and because you are alone. Why did you park so far away? This is your one thought as you grip your car keys tightly. That safe, happy feeling that you were talking about before is not applicable when you have parked too far away, it's night time in the urban jungle and you are a girl and you are alone. Wednesday, October 26, 2005. It is a green oasis in a concrete jungle. A calm breeze in a storm of traffic. You can sit and watch the busy people powerwalk past. Or pick at the lush grass while you read O under the thick trees and forget where you are. Posted by M at 6:04 pm. Links to this post. Posted by M @ 6:04 pm. Sunday, October 23, 2005. Anyway, all the relators have moved in, snatched all the land and made it into modern restaurants and exclusive apartments. Living by the sea is so trendy now.

Daily Zone 1 & 2 Confession: April 2006
http://daily12confession.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 16, 2006. Melbourne Train Girl stood waiting. Music through her headphones was distracting the tiny flutter of butterfly wings buried inside her abdomen. They had decided to meet at the steps of Flinders Street station, which was such a cliche but nonetheless convenient. An arfully crafted SMS sent by her earlier in the week, and an hour sitting on the roof of her car the night before, had led to this date. The meal turned out to be painfully long. Despite all this, Melbourne Train Girl sti...

Daily Zone 1 & 2 Confession: Empty Houses
http://daily12confession.blogspot.com/2006/08/empty-houses.html
Friday, August 04, 2006. Melbourne Train Girl waited for after dinner with restless impatience; for that was when the Short Boy had said he would call. Once she had eaten she walked one lap of her house and decided she would not let the waiting game get the better of her. She cleaned her room. Then she vaccuumed. And after that she rearranged her shoes in her wardrobe. His voice was just as she remembered it. And really, how could she ever have thought to have forgotten it? 123 I love you.

Friday, July 04, 2014. And The Tree Was Happy. One of the best books I know is. I read it each year to the class; sometimes numerous times, I give it away as a present to new parents, I talk about it often, I think about it even more. It’s one of those powerful books with an influential message about being selfless. In this era where narcissism is so central to our lives it’s more of an important message now than ever before. Over the past few years I’ve seen the old mantra of ‘. One shouldn’t think of o...

Wednesday, April 09, 2014. I tried to meet that 20 year old child today in that store but I couldn't. I looked for her in amongst the crisp trade paperbacks and Wrestlemania figurines but she was nowhere to be seen. She's lost. I'm lost. I left the store feeling like I had severed a tie forever. Another link gone. I'm going through them at an alarming rate. Posted by M at 7:02 pm. Links to this post. Posted by M @ 7:02 pm. Mariannef AT gmail DOT com.

http://melbournestories.blogspot.com/2014/09/truth.html
Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Does it even exist anywhere but in one's own heart? That's hardly scientific but perhaps empirical knowledge is the key to understanding, here. I'm looking at the truth and the truth is that there is absolutely nothing more than what your eyes see now. There is carbon and worms and stardust. And if you happen to die and don't exist anymore then did you ever? And what of that exactly? It ceases to exist completely like it never did. What is left? Did you ever exist and does ...

Your Rent's Due Mother F*cker: What's with the face, man?
http://yourrentsdue.blogspot.com/2006/12/whats-with-face-man.html
Monday, December 18, 2006. What's with the face, man? This post was inspired by the "scribbles" of fellow inward-looker and blogging buddy M. PS: I was tagged with a strange meme, curtesy of both. I am to pick up a book that is close by, tell what it is, turn to page 123, skip to the fifth sentence, and type the next three sentences. Then I'm supposed to tag, but I don't tag, I'll just offer it up. Strangely enough, the quote almost fits with this post. Here it is:. Awakening The Buddha Within. I wish I ...
