Pretty, Fizzy Paradise: February 2006
http://kalinara.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
Pretty, Fizzy Paradise. And maybe even blogging! Tuesday, February 28, 2006. A new Favorite Scene: Legion v4, #96. Since I mentioned the scene before as one of the many reasons I love Rokk Krinn, for all his occasional bitchiness, I thought I'd post the scene. Because it's cute. (Other reasons include the post-Zero Hour Machiavellian takedown of the president, because that was pretty damn awesome.been reading Post-Zero Hour stuff. :-). Bitch maybe, but the guy gets results! Silver Age Comics: And Yet Another Swipe
http://sacomics.blogspot.com/2014/08/and-yet-another-swipe.html
Mostly Dedicated to Comics Published from 1955-1970. Thursday, August 21, 2014. And Yet Another Swipe. I talked a few years ago about a very goofy story in Lois Lane #36. But eventually we got the follow-up. Well, tonight I was reading some old comics and found out that this was actually a swipe from an earlier Jimmy Olsen tale:. In the Jimmy Olsen story, just as in the Lois Lane tale, the protagonist has just returned from a little vacay:. They realize that they're being tricked for different reasons...

Silver Age Comics: Lois Lane #36
http://sacomics.blogspot.com/2011/11/lois-lane-36.html
Mostly Dedicated to Comics Published from 1955-1970. Saturday, November 26, 2011. The opening story is The Day Lois Lane Vanished. It's a very standard DC plot, where the protagonist suddenly finds that nobody remembers him or her:. Offhand I can think of at least two stories where Batman faced the same puzzle; Am I Really Batman. And in the end:. But that is a tale for another time. For the second story, we get:. The LL fan club holds their meetings in a room next to a cyclotron? She volunteers to test ...

Silver Age Comics: September 2014
http://sacomics.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Mostly Dedicated to Comics Published from 1955-1970. Monday, September 08, 2014. The First Brainiac (Or the Sixth? This is the April 1958 issue, which came out three months before the first green-skinned, pink-shirted Brainiac story in Action #242. So is this the first Brainiac? Or since it takes place almost 40 centuries in the future, well after the Legion of Super Heroes Brainiac 5's era, is it the sixth? This time travel business can sure make things confusing! Silver Age Comics: June 2014
http://sacomics.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Mostly Dedicated to Comics Published from 1955-1970. Wednesday, June 18, 2014. As I mentioned the other day, I have been working my way through the mid-1950s Superboy issues looking for more swipes by Weisinger and company. I came across two more, although these were not quite as blatant. First:. It's comparable to these two stories with identical titles:. Wednesday, June 11, 2014. The Secret Origin of Pete Ross. Did you know that Pete Ross' original name was Billy Todd? As he would later to Pete. Clark ...

London Loves Comics: February 2011
http://londonlovescomics.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Friday, 18 February 2011. At last a comic which scratches my fantasy itch. I'm a massive fan of ogres, skeletons, orcs. Dragons and all that D&D, Tolkien-style gubbins. But let's be honest, fantasy comics and literature can be a bit of a bore. All those characters with silly names doing ridiculous things with straight faces? Do me a favour! For something that's meant to be fantastical, reading fantasy is often a depressingly stodgy experience. First of all, no silly names! No pretentious overarching plot...
