From mid-October to mid-December 2005, the smell of barbecue filled the air at 10 Marine Corps installations across the country as contestants competed for top bragging rights at the grill. High-ranking and enlisted men and women alike took up the challenge of grilling the perfect steak. In all, just under 100 Marines competed in these “heated” competitions.
