Musings on Life, on Love. Warning signs of snake attack. There are snakes loose in my area. Could be the heat drawing them out, or the lack of water. All I know is one hell of a boa constrictor found me last week, slowly slithering up my spine, slinking into my subconscious, until it got to the throat of my soul and squeezed squeezed squeezed me until I lost every breath of hope. It can make you an uncomfortable partner, an insensitive friend, an unwilling human being. Suck it, snake. What Weighs Us Down.

Musings on Life, on Love. With Age, Comes…. With age, comes patience. With age, comes strength. Now, I know how to handle the pain of loss or separation better. I can be flailed alive inside, and still move on through day-to-day functions without trying to hurt myself or others. It’s still slow going, it still hurts immensely, but it’s not so overwhelming that I’m playing constant Mayan Zombie Apocalypse scenarios in my head. With age, comes trust. With age, comes acceptance. With age, comes understanding.

I’ve always loved the re-telling of the King Lear story, where the king rejects his youngest daughter because she tells him that she loves him “like salt.” In the end, when a meal is served entirely without salt, he realizes that without salt, life is flavorless. Musings on Life, on Love. What Weighs Us Down. Weight of the world. You give up if you had to leave tomorrow? You give up if you had to leave tomorrow? Looking around my office, I could give everything in there up. Nothing means enough to me that it needs to continue on with me. There’re just little things here and there that are niceties, but nothing I couldn’t live without. Some things are too much of a burden at the end of the day. I like to think I have a wabi-sabi. Everything else is just weight.
