Reflections on my Teaching. Planning and Assessing for National Curriculum 2014. Be warned I will be using PE specific examples in the curriculum planning section, but I will try to keep the assessment section as ‘unsubject specific’ as possible! The Key Stage 3 National Curriculum for PE states that pupils should taught to:. Develop their technique and improve their performance in other competitive sports [for example, athletics and gymnastics]. Below is a copy of the Key Stage 3 Curriculum Map used in ...

Reflections on my Teaching. Things Will Get Worse Before They Get Better. The slump ended 2 months ago and since then my lessons have been better than ever, planning is flowing and I feel in control again. The turning point came when I finally realised the reason for this slump and the answer was simpler than I ever could have thought- I was in a learning dip! The diagram below illustrates a typical learning dip:. 1 Allow for the dip. 2 Acknowledge that things will take longer. Was I cut out for teaching?

Looking through an online discussion I found any opinion from “enforce PE kit to the hilt using detentions and other sanctions to reinforce rules” to “let the kids where what they want to avoid kit issues and focus lessons on learning”. An investigation into the link between sport and positive behaviour by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority’s PE and Sch...

The overall outcome of the process is what pupils are eventually judged on through assessments, but pupils need to understand that the process they go through to...
