Mr. Lettiere's Commonplace

Monday, May 26, 2008. Been doing a lot of reading over the past 5 months. Work and family life took me away from reading. But I thought I would add some of the books I have read. Since I tend to write my worst when writing about books I haven't just read, I will keep it short. I will merely list some of the books and perhaps put a few memorable reflections. About a week or two ago, I finally finished. Good, but it is quite good. I, of course, couldn't help but think of Afghanistan. Sunday, March 02, 2008.

Mr. Lettiere's Commonplace: Tepper isn't Going Out

http://commonplacing.blogspot.com/2007/12/tepper-isnt-going-out.html

Monday, December 31, 2007. Tepper isn't Going Out. A colleague in my department mentioned this book near the end of last school year. It sounded like a great idea for a book: a man parks at parking meters and sits in his car. People wanting to park get extremely annoyed at a man who looks like he might be leaving but isn't. I read this book in the early part of summer. I am glad. My wife read after me and thought it was the greatest. This could easily have been written by Vonnegut and is worth reading.

Mr. Lettiere's Commonplace: Three Graphic Novels

http://commonplacing.blogspot.com/2007/12/three-graphic-novels.html

Monday, December 31, 2007. Early summer, I read. I remember liking it a lot. It was extremely surreal and was a quick read. I know nothing about the artist. I read about it somewhere and checked it out from the library and read it one afternoon. I was extremely disappointed. Was short and sweet. It reminded me a lot of. Even though that book was nonfiction and this is fictional. It was an enjoyable story that was a quick read. Reading this book is on par to watching the movie. Posted by Brett at 8:24 PM.

Mr. Lettiere's Commonplace: Children Books of 2007

http://commonplacing.blogspot.com/2008/01/children-books-of-2007.html

Tuesday, January 01, 2008. Children Books of 2007. I spent a lot of time this past year reading books to my daughter. Here are the ones that I read multiple times and she enjoyed. Where the Wild Things Are. My daughter loves this book. She recently said to me, "I'll eat you up, I love you so." There was a time when this was in heavy rotation. Now it gets thrown in about once every two weeks. G is for One Gzonk -. This was in heavy rotation before I purchased. Oh, The Thinks You can Think. This is a pop-u...

Mr. Lettiere's Commonplace: Dead Father's Club

http://commonplacing.blogspot.com/2007/12/dead-fathers-club.html

Monday, December 31, 2007. I read this book at the beginning of the summer I believe. So unfortunately, it isn't fresh to talk about. I remember enjoying the book. It reminded me a lot of. Curious Incident in the Night. I think it might even mention the book on the cover somewhere. I also was reminded of Hornby's. It must be that the protagonists of all three stories are young males who are very serious and miss sarcasm and irony. Posted by Brett at 8:06 PM. Illinois, United States.

Lettiere's Blog: First Recital

http://lettiere.blogspot.com/2011/06/first-recital.html

Monday, June 06, 2011. Phoebe had her first piano recital on June 4, 2011. She actually was supposed to have her first one in December- she memorized jingle bells and was ready to play it, but I got the time wrong, so we missed it. This time she played "Party Cat" as a duet with Mrs. Prendergast. She played perfectly and bowed just like she was supposed to. It was great! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Lettiere's Blog: December 2013

http://lettiere.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 18, 2013. A story in pictures- just playing with my camera. Beckett tells me "Mommy, I don't like it when you go. I just love you so much. My heart beats fast when I see you.". Beckett made a beaded lapel pin for me with his picture in the middle; Phoebe made a beaded bracelet with the word MOM spelled in beads in the middle, and they all got me the chick throw pillows that I wanted from CB2. :) I love them all! This picture is a lie! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Catcher in the Rye.
