How Life Happens: October 2013
http://howlifehappens.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Having a baby changes everything" says a baby commercial and there is so much truth in that statement. How could having a child that would struggle for even the most minor physical achievement be a blessing? Little peanut getting stretched. The early years were hard. And after a long time with the anger I finally had to let it go. I had to move on. Each day I was seeing this beautiful life unfold before me and there was no time or energy left for anger. Friday, February 6, 2015. A communication journey - lengthy update on AAC progress to date! Emma has many physical challenges and she doesn't let them dampen her positive, happy spirit and so we don't let them dampen ours. Butas her Mommy, the one thing I have the hardest time with accepting is the limited communication Emma has because of her body. And are willing to trial lots of options and equipment to see what will be the best communication fit for Emma. Is it your leg? Do you want to go outside?

Constraint Induced: November 2013
http://constraintinduced.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 5, 2013. The Long Journey Through Epilepsy. How could I know what would happen that night? How could I guess that it would be the scariest night of my life; a night that would change me forever, but change my brother even more? When I opened my eyes, I saw something I did not understand. My brother was lying flat on the floor and my parents were with him. I immediately wanted to help my parents, I wanted to run right into my brother’s room to find out what was happening and ask if...

Constraint Induced: A Shift in the Conversation
http://constraintinduced.blogspot.com/2013/07/a-shift-in-conversation.html
Wednesday, July 24, 2013. A Shift in the Conversation. Today is going to be a 2 pot of coffee kind of day. I've been up since 4 am when Simon's pulse oximeter alarm went off, not because of a seizure (thank goodness), but because of a momentary drop in heart rate which has been happening from time to time while he has been on the high-dose valium. So, he's okay, but I am not, and I can't get back to sleep. No I haven't heard that in a while, and I did so cling to it. On top of all that, because I am a wo...
