Actually I wanted to be a nun or a teacher, until I knew that I was to be a missionary. And that’s what I pursued, trained four years for and did in Mexico for 15 years. That was my identity for years until my husband and I and our children returned to the United States 16 years ago. I ended up being the stabilizer and peacemaker in many ways.
