Community Trailblazer: December 2009
http://communitytrailblazer.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Thoughts, journeys, reflections. Monday, December 14, 2009. Scripture as Dialogue follow-up. In reference to my earlier post on scripture as dialogue, I once again invite you to read the BSM blog, " scribblings in the sand. Thursday, December 10, 2009. Up in the air. Up in the air. Our futures, our present, how we interpret our past, our relationships, our jobs, our life callings. I just came back from seeing this fantastic new movie and want to take a moment to reflect on it. The movie ends with moving ...
Community Trailblazer: we will remember
http://communitytrailblazer.blogspot.com/2011/07/we-will-remember.html
Thoughts, journeys, reflections. Tuesday, July 26, 2011. Ten days is not a very long time to really get to know a place. Regardless, this is the time I spent in Haiti almost a year ago. My journal from the trip is recounted in this blog. Our friend, travel companion, and resident documentary film making student was with us on that trip to help us recount all that we saw and heard. Remembering is important, if nothing else than for recounting the story of a place. Check out the video on vimeo HERE.
Community Trailblazer: September 2011
http://communitytrailblazer.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Thoughts, journeys, reflections. Wednesday, September 7, 2011. I'm writing to let you all know that I will be getting back into the habit of blogging, and with a NEW blog site. Don't worry, all of my old posts will hopefully transfer over, and I don't plan on deleting this one. Why am I doing this? Well, for one, I am no longer the "community trailblazer" at Broad Street Ministry. They continue to carry on with their usual awesomeness. In these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will die.
Community Trailblazer: March 2010
http://communitytrailblazer.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Thoughts, journeys, reflections. Sunday, March 28, 2010. Take and eat (part 2). I've had my follow-up reflections to Sara Miles' "take this bread" on my backburner for weeks now. Finally getting around to finishing it up! I kind of cheated - used a lot of text I had already written for a school report - apologies for it reading that way, just figured I'd share.). Earlier, I reflected on Sara's experience of the mystery of the Eucharist as what drew her in. Drawing In (Chapter 8 – Histories). The process ...
Community Trailblazer: January 2010
http://communitytrailblazer.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Thoughts, journeys, reflections. Wednesday, January 20, 2010. Clothe with greater honor, treat with greater respect. 12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body- Jews or Greeks, slaves or free- and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. 14 Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many. 19 If all were a single member, where would the body be?

My aunt says the picture below is of Hot Springs; I choose to believe her.

Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Kristin's post is part of our Lenten Water Project. Throughout this Lenten season our writers will be focusing on the subject of water and what that means to them. Please donate. To our well-building efforts, and if you have something YOU would like to say about water,. And we'll post it here! I think it all started a few months ago when I witnessed the baptism of little David. David’s was the first baptism I saw at the church where I’m interning. He swung his head around to look...

I was able to pull a really great story to use in my sermon this morning. My favorite topic, I think, is "journeys and pilgrimages." Below are some prime examples. Enjoy! I love this series of photos: my mother was interviewed on local Pennsylvania television in 1956 about Christian Endeavor, for which she served as regional secretary. She doesn't remember the identity of the gentleman to her right, but he's wearing a CE jacket. These are wonderful period pieces! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://asmallcafe.blogspot.com/2011/04/new-game-fungi-or-not.html
Pronunciation: e-stä-mē-ˈnā, Function: noun, Plural: es·ta·mi·nets -nā(z) , Etymology: French, Date: 1814. A small café. Sunday, April 24, 2011. New game: fungi or not? I found these odd pine cone-shaped growths clustered at the base of trees on our property this afternoon. They were scattered in clumps across a few hundred feet. I can't figure out if they're fungi, or somehow part of a pine tree. The biggest I saw was approximately 4 inches tall. Any knowledge or pointers to resources would be welcome.
