Community Transformation - Youth Camp

The first Staveley Youth Camp was a huge success! The 21st-23rd August 2013 saw thirty-one young people and a team of local volunteers camping behind Staveley Methodist Church. The young people participated in mountain biking, archery, rock climbing, rifle shooting, canoeing, sports, crafts and more. Everyone had a brilliant time and we got loads of great feedback. Many of the young people said they would be coming along to the ‘ Active. Derbyshire County Council provided the Adventurous Activities team.

Providing a place to 'hang-out' and be engaged for the youth of the local area. Active serves children of school years 6 to 9 every week from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. Based out of the local community hall, the evenings include a variety of activities to get involved with and learn new skills and experience, from archery and outdoor sports, to movie nights and video games.

Community Transformation was formed in Autumn 2012 with the sole aim of transforming the community of Staveley, in North Derbyshire. Initiated by a group of local Christians, who have lived and worked in Staveley over a period of 20 years, we believe that the community of Staveley has a lot to offer and we are committed to helping the people of Staveley fulfill their personal potential, thereby being part of a 'Community Transformation'.
