Sunday, 22 July 2012. Last week Bethany called me with the best idea ever: go berry picking and make jam? IT WOULD BE THE DREAM OF MY LIFE! I remember my mom making jam (apricot, to be specific) when I was younger and I wanted to learn to make some for myself. However, I was scared to do it incorrectly and cause botulism, so when Bethany and Joel asked, I felt confident since Joel is a Ph.D. in chemistry. They drove down to Ladner and we went to Emma Lea Farms. To pick tayberries and strawberries.

It was even grosser when we got to the bottom of the bucket and found the layer of yeast. Just be glad I did not photograph it. I'll leave you with a closeup of the sludgy edge.
