Friday, June 11, 2010. Still planning my plans and dreaming of having enough time to actually make them a reality, but the sundrops have opened and the garden is blooming. Where do we go to make the essential part of our lives match the things we must do to survive? The only answer I can see is to be present every moment, free from stories that would block our view, and drink it all in. As someone once said - "Life is what happens while you're making other plans.". How do you maintain your balance?

Minneapolis has been shut down by a 20-inch snowfall that collapsed the roof of the Metrodome and forced the Vikings-Giants game to be moved to Monday night in Detroit. Stuck in Traffic, Thinking of Food. Store-Bought Egg Nog is for Suckers. Posted by Commuter's Kitchen. In Appetizer and Snacks. Asymp; Leave a comment. 2 quarts whole milk. 6 eggs, whites and yolks divided. 15 cups sugar, divided. Desired spirits (whiskey, rum, etc). Beat egg yolks with 3/4 cup sugar. Add 3/4 cup sugar to egg whites, and beat gradually until stiff. Remove milk from heat and fold in egg whites. Serve immediately with a dash of nutmeg and liquor. Salad Side Or Supper: Charred Corn & Avocado.
