commuting with christ: election witnessing
http://commutingwithchrist.blogspot.com/2007/11/election-witnessing.html
Outreach amid travel.insight to unravel. Running late for my train i hurried down the slippery stairs towards the parallel tracks. The sight of the pamphlet waver was overtaken by the sound of pneumatic doors clinching tight. As i was handed a brochure declaring "Kevin 07" in bold writing. A familiar sound in the distance grew louder and louder. i wished time would permit further discussion, but instead the sound of the pneumatic doors greeted me. We exchanged farewells as i darted in the closest...The p...
commuting with christ: monday morning melancholy
http://commutingwithchrist.blogspot.com/2007/11/monday-morning-melancholy.html
Outreach amid travel.insight to unravel. I shuffle out of bed as the alarm resonates my ear. I shuffle on the platform as the train vibrates my feet. My absent, apathetic state demands relief and relaxation. Bypassing my usual glances at familiar faces, i contemplate for a second before opening my laptop to watch Bus 174. Does my time belong to me? I pause to reflect on my usual travel time consumption:. Should the usage of my time be dependent on my circumstances? This blog is looking mad.

Outreach amid travel.insight to unravel. Eight weeks has passed since my past post. This time was filled with many more escapades - so why the absence from this blog? Pondering, reflecting, discussing are more my areas of giftedness. The art of writing stares at me from the darkness. At times I can muster up the courage to paint a picture with words, but mostly I experience a burden. So I decided to start another blog. Its simply titled joelpj - a dumping ground. commuting with christ: February 2008

Outreach amid travel.insight to unravel. The hum of an engine coupled with friction of rubber provided a different atmosphere to ponder. Due to railwork, coaches were recently employed to cart the thousands home. Interestingly, the commute became more personal - maybe due to the limited seats or perhaps the opportunity to greet the driver. In this case, it was definitely the latter that made for an engaging journey. The travel drone grew predictable until I heard the word "Jesus". The old lady inquired:.
commuting with christ: jesus-spotting while train-spotting
http://commutingwithchrist.blogspot.com/2008/03/jesus-spotting-while-train-spotting.html
Outreach amid travel.insight to unravel. The noise of the daily newspaper filled the carriage as commuters sought distraction from mundane travel. I too desired entertainment, adding keyboard clicks amongst the commotion. Thanks to Google Alerts. A somewhat unnoticed news story (Jan) filled the screen:. Jesus appears on train platform. Surprised at the title I read on to discover this occurred at Waverton, just three stations from my work. In my usual skepticism I began to question:. On a similar theme:.

Sing Unto the Lord. November 28, 2007, 8:59 pm. Filed under: Everything else. On my way to work I almost ran a cyclist off the road. He hit my car and his buddies gave me the finger. I was on Galston Gorge so I couln’t stop and apologise… I felt terrible though so I’m confessing online. I got cheered up when I got here by an interesting interview with Dave Crowder. Go check it out. Big difference part II. November 28, 2007, 5:39 am. Filed under: Thinking Music. Joel Brown at Doxologist says…. Just read t...

Commuting to Hong Kong
Commuting to Hong Kong. Saturday, March 7, 2009. That incident has always since epitomized a truly intrepid traveler. So when Granite decided to get his hair cut off at the end of the CNY holidays, I wasn't going to argue. We walked through the streets of Ranong in the heaviest heat I've experienced in Thailand until we found a espresso/fresh orange juice stand backed by a barber shop. The barber slowly put the guard on the buzzers and said to me, "Ok? Yes, I said. Then he asked Granite, "Ok? I've also b...

HUMAN visits NATURE
Sunday, June 01, 2008. The changing of the blog. The short of it: This blog is finished. The new version is here: http:/ commutiny.wordpress.com. The long of it: I've been blogging intermittently since 1999. The first incarnation was a home-made HTML version I cobbled together on Geocities, before it joined the Yahoo! Nostalgia*). It was mainly an excuse for me to acquire basic proficiency in HTML, and after that was accomplished the blog fell by the wayside. 2003 found recurrent angst over the blog's ra...
