I did not understand what selection was until I heard other mothers arguing about it. Coaching for the 11 plus is rife. Eleven plus selection in West Kent is actually social and economic selection. Chaos in Kent where selection rules. How naive I was! To think that selection wouldn’t affect neighbouring areas. Selection in Bucks means a racially segregated school. If these grammars didn’t exist parents would be much happier.
