I'm Conall and I built a 48' steel trawler in my barn. Thursday, January 22, 2015. Along with no ice on the boat roof, and a break in the weather, I decided to install the mast. Unlike most things boat building, this particular phase of the project actually went fairly smooth and took about as long as I figured. I'm Conall and I built a 48' steel trawler in my barn. Monday, October 6, 2014. An update of sorts. The wheel house trim is 99% complete with me having fabricated the faux beam that runs down the center line of the wheel house and also is the chase for getting wires to the mast. My goal was to have all the wood work in the salon completed by the end of April, and while I'm going to be close, I won't be finished in a week. I'll be close, but not finished. This weekend I brought in the cabinets I built last year and got them fitted. I'm Conall and I built a 48' steel trawler in my barn. Saturday, November 29, 2014. This post is really not boat building related unless one considers that I heat our shop with a wood boiler. For years now, I've been splitting my wood the old fashioned way. I saw it, and the kids get paid to split it. In a typical year, we burn about five cords of wood. Because of the work I do, I usually get paid to haul it off someones site, so we usually have an ample supply of 12' long logs. Tuesday, November 4, 2014.
