Archive for May 2015. May 12, 2015. It’s been a while since I participated in the monthly Mixology Monday. But as I finished up my recent collection of La Cage Aux Folles cocktails. I happened upon the announcement on Cocktail Virgin. And it fit in nicely with what I like to drink as well as a problem I was looking to solve. For this theme, actuate it any way you’d like as long as the drink resembles a Manhattan. Want to take 19th century Manhattan recipes or variations to the test? 025 oz. Campari.

April 29, 2015. 10 oz White Rum. 10 oz Dark Rum. 05 oz cream of coconut. 05 oz lime juice. 2 dashes Bitterman’s Burlesque Bitters. 2 dashes Bitterman’s Elemakule Tiki Bitters. Shake with ice and strain into glass over shaved ice. A little tiki for Mercedes, with a mix of dark and light rums, acid from lime, some rich sweetness from a coffee liquor and cream of coconut, and then some healthy doses of bitters, both Tiki (not pictured) and Burlesque (of course). Keeping the fine art alive! Donderdag 9 juli 2015. Deze "Bacio Tropical" heb ik gevonden op een het internet en maakt gebruikt van de minder voorkomende Ponche Kuba. Helaas was verdere informatie niet terug te vinden. Crème de Bananes (1,5 cl) (Bols). Crème de Cacao (wit) (1,5 cl) (De Kuyper). Ponche Kuba (1,5 cl). Vodka (1,5 cl) (Absolut). Doe alles in de shaker, krachtig schudden en strainen in een cocktailglas. Garneren doe je met een beetje kaneelpoeder. Labels: Crème de Bananes. Crème de Cacao (wit).

Keeping the fine art alive! Woensdag 29 juli 2015. Old Skagen Iced Tea. Old Skagen is een plaats in Denemarken, maar er is ook een Iced Tea gemaakt die deze naam draagt. Het verband tussen beide ken ik niet en zie ik ook niet, maar ja. Rum (bruin) (2 cl) (Havana Club Añejo Reserva). Vodka (zwarte bes) (4 cl) (Abolut Kurant). Doe alles behalve de cola in een mengglas, even oproeren en strainen over ijsblokjes in een longdrinkglas. Voeg tenslotte de cola toe en garneer met een schijfje perzik en ananas.

Het is ook weer een van die minder vaak voorkomende dranken achter de bar. Vodka (3 cl) (Grey Goose). Doe alles in een mengglas, even roeren en strainen in een cocktailglas. Garneer met een olijfje. Een cocktail om Gancia direct te leren kennen, waarbij je eigenlijk enkel de Gancia proeft, maar wel een scherp randje aan is door de aanwezigheid van de vodka. A Dash Of Bitters.

Shake all ingredients but the ale with ice, then strain into coupe. Top with the ale.
