One of my edicts is to have the orchestra tune “mindfully.” I regularly coach my groups to tune thoughtfully, and with a beautiful sound. But… do we. Know when we’re in tune? Serge Koussevitzky - Born: July 28, 1874 - June 4, 1951. Recital in 1903. Koussevitzky married his first wife Natalie Ushkov, daughter of a wealthy merchant, in 1905 and moved to Germany.
