confessions of a child life intern

Confessions of a child life intern. Nothing like taking a walk with a leukemia patient to make you stop and smell the roses. literally. I finished my inpatient rotation on Peds today, and to say that i LOVED it would be an understatement! I got to see patients independently, and for the first time I felt like a true Child Life Specialist. It’s so reassuring knowing that you’re on the right path! February | 2014 | confessions of a child life intern

https://confessionsofachildlifeintern.wordpress.com/2014/02

Confessions of a child life intern. Monthly Archives: February 2014. As I finish my Outpatient/Imaging Center rotation, I thought I would give you some of the highlights:. It blizzarded. I know y’all already know how I feel about the winter, so I will spare you my thoughts on getting this much snow. All I will say is having three snows days (complete with binge marathon of gossip girl and eating my weight in everything) was not bad. I have begun transitioning out of observing and into doing! I have reall...

And I feel like I have been doing this forever! Speaking of MAY…. I should really start studying for comps! Anyways. this is my super positive self on the first day of my internship… less thrilling pictures are to follow I am sure…. Is anyone else as exhausted as me? Mentally, physically, emotionally…. Helping with IV starts….

Confessions of a child life intern. It must be hard to find an adjective to describe the experience of watching a commercial for Cancer Treatment Centers of America when you’re 15 and have cancer. A Cute Badge Reel Is Hard To Find. Things that happen when you start a child life internship in 2014:. 1 You look up rainbow looms on amazon and youtube and wonder if you can justify buying purple, pretty n pink and glow in the dark color bands to your wallet. This is normal. Chase the dream. Emily on One Month.

Confessions of a child life intern. I started a new rotation this week, and let me tell ya–world’s apart! Things are looking brighter by the day, literally.the sun is up when I drive to work now! I am still in outpatient but it’s the specialty clinics and imaging center. Being that Radiology and the specialty clinics were my fav rotations during my practicum, I was already super stoked to come here. My two supervisors RULE! I have only been doing this for 3 weeks? Pray, Play, and Patients. An island girl's quest for change through Child Life. First of all, I would like to clarify that we are not over paid baby sitters. Sadly, I had read somewhere that someone in this world believes this is so. Secondly, I am not a certified child life specialist, but I am learning the tricks of the trade and hope that I can shed some light about this awesome expanding field. Thirdly, I will try my best to explain who are Child Life Specialists :). Personally, one of the take home ...

Pray, Play, and Patients. An island girl's quest for change through Child Life. Growth is a necessity. Life in general has been a roller coaster ride. Since it is my last year in college, I’ve been trying to balance school life, work life, volunteering, family, friends, and me time. To be honest, I’ve had some days where I felt stuck with my thoughts and what I should do next. After finding inspiration to become a CCLS, I’ve been trying think out options after graduation. Pray, Play, and Patients. An island girl's quest for change through Child Life. It’s Beginning to look a lot like…. A Hawaiian Christmas, of course! I’ve been away from this blog too long, which is all due to school :(. However, I have so much awesome stories and inspirational messages that I’ve come across this past month of volunteering, that I just can’t wait for exams to be over so I can pick up on extra me time to share my stories with all of you out there! Keep Faith | Pray, Play, and Patients

https://prayplayandpatients.wordpress.com/2014/01/07/keep-faith

Pray, Play, and Patients. An island girl's quest for change through Child Life. Another year has passed as I start to reflect on the good, the bad, and the beautiful; but as I look forward, I still fear the great unknown towards graduation and what lies after. Many have and will continue to tell me, ‘at least you know what you want to do after graduation’. I do not doubt that I could have possibly made plans for God to laugh at, only to alter them as quickly as I thought of them. Yet, I have to keep faith.

Confessions of a Chemo Brain

Confessions of a Chemo Brain. Sunday, June 16, 2013. So we decided on a break from chemo. Problem was, the break did nothing. My creatinine number never came down, it actually went up. The other symptoms that kept sending me to the hospital stayed right on with no real break and on top of all of that it looked like fluid was building up in my left lung again, since I had no tube in there. Confessions of a Chemo Brain. Saturday, September 29, 2012. OK so last we spoke, or more accurately last I blogged.

Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Pretty Exiguous Turmoil Attempt. I wouldn't consider myself an animal rights activist. I could never be a vegetarian, because I love bacon. That being said, I don't eat veal for moral reasons, nor would I ever consider wearing fur. I've watched PETA vid. Confessions of a Chocoholic - a food blog by Bianca Garcia

The Best Things To Do and Eat in Rome. March 19, 2018. I was not prepared to fall so hard for Rome. I knew that the sights were going to be beautiful, and that the food will be incredible, but until we actually got there, I didn’t realize how jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring the city would be. Confessions of a Chocoholic. A site dedicated to those newly diagnosed with IC. Hello My name is Dana. And I'm a chocoholic. But that much you already knew. I can't eat chocolate. While this may not be a life-threatening condition, it is a life-altering one. And it's not just chocolate. I can't eat or drink anything acidic. Nor can I consume foods high in oxalates, or beverages with bubbles (i.e., seltzer water). What else is out? Why all these food restrictions? September is IC Awareness Month! I launch...
