Saturday, April 22, 2006. A Day At The Lake and A Surprise Visitor. Today, two of my sisters came to visit and we spent part of the day and the lake. These two photos are taken just above the dam. It was a beautiful day! FeFe is in the green. She is the baby in our family. I have such beautiful sisters! Nena is in the blue. She turn 80 years young a few months ago. She is the oldest of Mama's 9 kids! No one would believe her age-she looks much younger. Now aren't we a pair! Can you imagine the two of us ...

Time spent with their Uncle Jack and Aunt Mildred was priceless. They took them fishing and my kids had a wonderful time with them. If I remember correctly it is approximately 6 miles across and is near or included in the city of Portland, Oregon. The second picture is Jack and Steve on Sauvie's. It was quite a scene INDEED! He was one proud...

Thursday, May 04, 2006. In Loving Memory of Mildred. Two years ago today, my precious sister went home to be with the Lord at the age of 77 years old. I loved her so very much and miss her terribly! I know she is in a better place free of pain, but there are days when I wish she was still here on this earth so I could call her on the phone or go to visit her and see her smiling face. In the first picture, she was 17 years old. Isn't Mildred beautiful? Posted by Mary Ellen at 6:43 AM. Links to this post.

Thursday, May 25, 2006. My Grandson, Jacob, recently graduated from Kindergarten. It was the really neat to watch these little kids proudly receive their diplomas. Before the graduation ceremonies, they entertained us with a 50's dance. The little girls were so darling in their little "poodle skirts"! Some of the boys had their hair in a "flat top" with their blue jeans rolled up at the cuff. It was the cutest thing! The closest two kids are Jacob and his little partner doing the twist! Saturday, July 15, 2006. Fishing in November in Maine. Here are more beautiful pictures of our trip to Maine. Justin and Karen are fishing on a river in Lewiston, Maine, very close to where Justin lived. He has recently moved to New Hampshire to work for a different company. They didn't catch anything so they decided to move on to another spot. All of the pictures above were taken at the first fishing spot. The two pictures below were taken by Karen on a different river in Maine. Links to this post.

Saturday, June 24, 2006. Today I am going to be brave and make a vow. I am committed to becoming a healthy woman! As of June 2, I began a healthy eating program. Basically, I have eliminated several things from my diet- sugar, white flour, chocolate, caffeine, and most milk products except for hard cheese (occasionally). I have. Also, Ken and I are reading Dr. Phil's book called "The Ultimate Weight Solution". It has a lot of helpful information. We have also joined two weight loss challenges...This come...

Monday, May 08, 2006. I truly believe I had the most wonderful Mother in the world. She loved life! She loved her God. She loved her children and grandchildren. She loved her animals. Mama was generous and kind. She would do anything for anyone that needed help. We were so blessed to have our Mother with us for 94 years. Mother's Day is coming up Sunday and I wish I could see my Mother once again and go to church with her on Mother's Day. She was 92 years old doing this "disco" her way! The above quote w...
