A Generation For Truth: 9/11
http://agenerationfortruth.blogspot.com/2009/09/911_11.html
Friday, September 11, 2009. Peggy Noonan wrote an excellent article, Courage Under Fire. Regarding the heroism that was displayed eight years ago on this day. Here are a few excerpts from this article. More than 300 firemen dead. This is the part that reorders your mind when you think of it. For most of the 5,000 dead were there- they just happened to be. There, in the buildings, at their desks or selling coffee or returning e-mail. But the 300 didn't happen to be there, they went. I live with my family ...

For His Name's Sake: March 2012
http://bberkom.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 29, 2012. Utah 2012: First Day in Zion National Park. Ever since our trip through Utah last year, Jonathan and I have been itching to get back down here. So we did. Chelsea and Mike are along this time and we're down here for about 8 days to hike, backpack, and just enjoy the outdoors. This is a quick update from Zion Lodge (I've got internet! We pulled in late around midnight last night, but thankfully we had already reserved a campsite so that wasn't a concern. Saturday, March 03, 2012.

For His Name's Sake: The Factuality of Scripture: Part 1
http://bberkom.blogspot.com/2012/01/factuality-of-scripture-part-1.html
Wednesday, January 04, 2012. The Factuality of Scripture: Part 1. I recently received a comment from a gentleman named Phineas on my post It Really Happened. Which I found interesting and which provided the spark for this series of posts. The factuality of Scripture is an important topic and one that, I fear, Christians consider far too seldom. Here's an excerpt from my post:. Resource (it certainly is that! And forget that it is also intensely historical. I'm not writing to be critical of your belief sy...

A Generation For Truth: November 2008
http://agenerationfortruth.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 5, 2008. A Cry For Our Nation. Many Christians upon hearing that Obama had become our new president, were shaken, fearful, depressed and discouraged. My prayer through this election is that we as a nation learn something and that we as Christians do as well. Do we deserve his judgment? Is the church even more guilty than the world? What is the church supposed to be? PS I am sorry we have not posted in a long time. Noah has not been able to post, and I have been extremely busy with...

A Generation For Truth: June 2009
http://agenerationfortruth.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Last week, Aaron introduced a new series on this blog about hermeneutics. It is still coming. Biblical hermeneutics requires faithful application. Without obedience to God’s Word, accurate interpretation is useless, devoid of meaning. I pray that this post will more clearly underscore the critical need of Biblical hermeneutics. Without it, there is no proper application; without it, we drift away from obedience to God. Let no man despise thy youth. As younger men and women, we mus...

For His Name's Sake: December 2011
http://bberkom.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 26, 2011. If I were to pick a motto (and I would have several), one candidate would probably be "tomorrow never comes.". Why would I say that? Isn't that kind of depressing? Well, the idea isn't exactly original to me. A sentence in J.C. Ryle's excellent little book,. Thoughts for Young Men. Keeps coming back to me over the years, where he expresses this idea very well:. Thoughts for Young Men. This is not a spirit of fear, but of confidence and hope! Posted by Benjamin Berkompas. For th...
