Sunday, October 20, 2013. The Year I forgot. SEPTEMBER: We went home to the UK for some well earned R&R, where I dressed up for a wedding, not mine. Went to London and stayed behind this beautiful building, The Michelin Building. Dropped in to say high to the crew at Bright. Came up again and hung out with some of these guys. Throughout this forgotten year I've been lucky enough to work on some really nice jobs. Peter and The Wolf - CJ Educations. Robbie Ravenbeak - Pearson UK. Posted by Connah Brecon.

Saturday, September 8, 2012. Melbourne Book Week Part II. One of the big concepts for kids to learn is that stories, all stories, have BME. Not Big Mamma Elephants or Brown Moles Escaping or even Blue Metered Elves. No. Over the week we had lots of fun creating quick stories with different characters (B), problems to resolve (M), and outcomes (E). There was a lot of THINGING going on! Had to squeeze in some extra lunchtime sessions to fill all the requests for THINGS we couldn't fit into normal time.

Saturday, August 16, 2014. Lucy Frost Is Lost - Part II. So here we go with the spreads, starting at page 3. So, in the last post I eluded to a 'switch-up', which is the fact that we don't see the real Lucy Frost until the end of the story. We assume Lucy is the elephant, which of course she is, in disguise, but she doesn't get lost through the story, so what are we referring to here? The characters are so absorbed in their fantasy costume play that they forget who is who inside the costumes. 169;connahb...

Friday, December 23, 2016. Merry Christmas Eve Eve! Merry Christmas Eve Eve! Despite all the gloominess that would have been right at home in a Morrissey song, there were some lancing blooms of sunlight. I was most fortunate to work with Claire Saxby, Kimberley Bennett and Random House. A great romp with a not so old at heart Grandpa and Grandson. Also the great team at Little Tigger Press. Eleanor Farmer, Kate Warren on Paws McDraw. My UK debut picture book. A fine tale if you can bear the cupcakes.

Thursday, July 17, 2014. Lucy Frost Is Lost or How some stuff comes together to make a Picture Book. OK So those of you who follow me on twitter. Will have noticed over the last couple of days that I've been posting spreads from a new Picture Book concept. This is something I've been meaning to do for a while now but I tend to get carried away and before you know it the moment has gone. How do you make the book? How long does it take? So this time we'll do it before we reach a point of no return. For tho...

Thursday, May 22, 2014. Received the best post this week:. Hardback colour sample of Frank! From my wonderful editor Lisa Cheng at Running Press. And yes, it was perfect from jacket to jacket. Look out for further sneak peeks and much more coming soon. You can pre-order a copy from Amazon. Or alternately purchase a copy from your local high street book store, if they don't have it on the shelf, politely ask why. Hits the shelves 30th September 2014. Posted by Connah Brecon.
