I remember the sinking feeling I experienced when I first learned that my friends’ toddlers were signed up for mommy and me music classes and gymnastics at the Y. Had I already put my kids at a disadvantage? Was I setting them up for failure in some way? Should I get them involved in music or tumbling so that they, too, could learn these skills?
