http://www.connectingthefamily.blogspot.com/2015/02/52-ancestors-2015-week-7-love-katherine.html

Saturday, 14 February 2015. 52 Ancestors 2015 - Week 7 - Love - Katherine de Roet and John of Gaunt. Valentine's Day is a good excuse to look at love stories. Romeo and Juliet is known as a great love story but to many people the story of the relationship between John of Gaunt, the fourth son of Edward III, and Katherine de Roet rates almost as highly. Katherine's husband, Sir Hugh Swynford died fighting the French in 1372. In 1371 John of Gaunt married Constance of Castile. This was a political marr...

Saturday, 24 January 2015. 52 Ancestors 2015 - Week 5- Ploughing through - The farmers on the Hawkesbury. The theme for Week 5 of the 52 Ancestors 2015 challenge is plowing through. I am using the Australian / English spelling of ploughing. Google Map of Hawkesbury River. Twenty-two settlers arrived to farm their thirty acre allotments. 1869-1833) appears to have been living in the Hawkesbury area from the time of his arrival in New South Wales in 1800. Holidays: Hampton Court Palace

http://courtadventures.blogspot.com/2015/08/hampton-court-palace.html

Sunday, August 2, 2015. While visiting East Molesey on 30 July I went for a walk along the banks of the Thames to Hampton Court Palace. Built 500 years ago this Tudor palace is a most impressive building. The palace is an easy walk along the banks of the Thames River from the East Molesey cricket ground. Numerous water birds, including swans, can be seen during the walk. It is quite a busy stretch of river with a variety of boats. When crossing the bridge the castle comes into view. Connecting the Dotts | Connecting Faith to Life

Connecting Faith to Life. What do you value? April 30, 2013. What do you value? That was the question posed by my Pastor in his Sunday sermon. What do you value? As I pondered that question, (I ponder a lot) I knew I could answer that fairly quickly. But, I also realized that what is important to me, what is valuable to me, has really narrowed down. Being important, noticed or included has become not so important. I quickly jotted down 3 things that I value the most right now. And it is impossible. My se...

How do you describe the moment when creativity arrives at your doorstep? It grabs a hold of you and there’s no turning back. Pablo Neruda depicts it beautifully in his poem, Poetry. And it was at that age… poetry arrived. In search of me. I don’t know, I don’t know where. It came from, from winter or a river. I don’t know how or when,. To me; w...
