Bunkhouse on Specie Mesa. San Miguel County, CO. This cabin was designed and built to accommodate fishing vacations for the client and visiting friends. One of the goals for the project was to create a building that seemed at home on the mesa. House on the San Miguel River 1995. San Miguel County, CO. The site for this house in the San Miguel River Canyon is a small lot located between the river and the highway, with views of the scenic river and of the undeveloped natural landscape on the opposite bank. The main living /dining / kitchen space opens out onto a riverside deck running the full length of the house. Floor-to-ceiling door and window openings link the interior space with the deck and surrounding landscape. Mike Thele P.E.

Remodel on North Willow Street. This was an extensive remodel of a house built in the early 1970’s on Telluride’s north hillside. The original building, designed shortly after the town’s designation as a National Historic District, was modeled after an early 20th century residence at the top of Bridal Veil Falls at the end of Telluride’s box canyon. It incorporated materials salvaged locally, including timber framing members from the abandoned railroad trestle at Ophir.

House on East Pandora Avenue. The site for this house is a standard sized single town lot located in east Telluride on a steep south-facing slope between two existing houses. To the south are views of the Bear Creek drainage and surrounding peaks. The location is just outside the design district containing most of the town’s historic residential buildings. The design of the house shares the simple form and roof detailing found in the historical structures nearby. Mike Thele P.E.

Monday, May 8, 2017. May 7, 2017. Our last day in Paris! We had hoped the weather would cooperate and be warm and sunny! However, just like every day here but one, it was quite cool and sprinkling for a good part of the day! Never daunted, we simply changed our plans a bit! We scratched our picnic and long walk in the Bois de Bologne and did other great things! After breakfast at the Trocadero (we've visited EVERY cafe there), we headed out for a walk anyway! Are they all voting or are they at church?
